Some lady decided it would be a good idea to pull out of her parking space and do a u-turn across three lanes right in front of me this morning. Halfway down a mile-long hill. In the rain. I had to brake pretty fucking hard, and luckily she was able to get some traction and get moving.
Hey lady. Most cyclists can hit 30 on this hill applying zero power to the pedals. A cyclist was killed a few years ago about 2 blocks north of where you pulled this bullshit. The scenario was exactly the same.

was at the bike racks on davis and some fraternibro in his lettered out sweats tried to lock his heavy ass cruiser up to the rack. the bike tipped over though and fell on some guy’s kilo, smashing it against the rack. looked pretty gnarly. I try and lock in inconvenient places now, but shit happens.
God damn, now it’s my brother’s turn to get whacked. In Lincoln, NE a lady (with a suspended license) failed to yield while he was going through an intersection and knocked him over. He landed on his feet, was able to get an officer on the scene and ticket her. Plus the lady had insurance. Sounds like he’s gonna be fine. He did manage to take off her rear view mirror with his elbow, so apart from the dangers that this woman will probably take her sweet time fixing it, that’s kind of a win.
No word on the official diagnosis of the bike, but sounds like it’ll be fine.
