but i imagine a dent like that it was likely unintentional although probably the result of some shocking carelessness. probably didn’t realize they’d done any damage, not that it makes a difference.
i guess the next question is have you sold your other pmount yet?
The question i have is, what about this dent though? Does it look like something that renders the frame unusable? I was apprehensive to ride it but maybe it’s just a cosmetic thing.
Remember that thread I started ‘some people are fucking assholes’ when some fuckhead just kicked the fuck out of a bike locked to a pole? Completely bent the frame in half. It wasn’t even my bike and I was furious about it for days.
Dude Suabear, that suuuuuuucks! But maybe you can think positively and just say someone threw it down the stairs for you?
I get irrationally pissed when this kind of stuff happens. I’m glad she’s okay, but did she get a police report and ticket the guy’s ass? Is it even worth pursuing? Considering potential lingering knee issues…
I suppose if it were bad enough to worry about we’d have heard about it.
if so, if you love it, ride the shit out of it.
ride it.
ride that fucker.
if you are so inclined, get it to waterford and be like “look what some asshole did” and then get it replaced. yea yea, i’ve heard about how it’s difficult to do that BUUUT that dent is pretty far up the downtube, therefore a great candidate for a s&s coupler retrofit.
also, imagine the possibilities of TAF paint collabos. dat neon + splatter/purple/rainbow clearcoat/metalflake
I’d ride it, one of the reasons you get sweet sweet steel instead of crabon is that you probably won’t die if something like that happens. I have around 4000 miles on a fork with a crazy fucked up dent and haven’t died yet to my knowledge. S&S fit is an awesome idea, though, turn a negative into a positive!

She got the driver’s number and license plate in case # is bogus. Thankfully lady was cooperative and apologetic. Everything seems arright so far, but we’ll see I guess.
when i got divorced my wife basically threw away the keys to my old road bike, which was still locked in the basement of our building. in my post-divorce freakout i said fuck it and bought a scooter. people tore that thing to pieces. within less than a month both mirrors were smashed, it had been knocked down several times and once someone dragged it across the street and put it up in front of a fire hydrant, so not only did they scratch the shit out of it but i also got a $120 ticket. btw this is the same neighborhood that someone threw a boombox at rudy on a dark rainy night. basically my philo is if it’s going outside know the worse is likely to happen. i’d just take it to a shop to make sure it’s ok then forget about it. as time goes on these things tend to make objects feel more personal.
Now that I’ve had a day to simmer down, I’m not raging so much over it anymore. A little pissed at myself for being an idiot and locking it out, even if just for a couple minutes… but it’ll pass.
anyways, today I talked to everyone at the shop I’m currently working at. They all said the same thing. It’s an eyesore, but it’ll be fine. If anything it’ll just have more character now. Just keep riding the shit out of it.
Will continue to do so. Fucking love how this bike feels.
got called “a fagit” at a light on my way home today. I was smoking and managed to successfully flick my cig through his open window and into his lap. lols were had by me.
