Your favorite cranks.

This post is a little brianforums I know, but bear with me.
Just got a fuji track pro frameset, and I am looking for a new crankset to throw on, just wondered if anyone had suggestions.

I would like to get a set of omniums, I am an external bb fan, but can’t find the black anywhere.

75’s

^

I’m riding on a set of bontrager track cranks that I like a lot right now. and they didn’t cost too much.

basically the same as the truvativs (made by them) but with a 130 BCD. and the price includes a BB. http://bontrager.com/model/05072/en

but I love the DuraAce Track cranks a lot.

omniums are sex

Omniums if you’re going to race. Otherwise, just get whatever’s cheap and black.

Yeah I really dig them, and had a similar outboard bearing setup on my mtb that was awesome. Those bontis look really nice they are definitely top of the list. They seem to be a good compromise beteween the cheap and more spendy cranks.

edit:75’s

I ride these too. I think I paid $80, a bargain.

Ominiums are pretty cool.

I put 75s on everything.

75s are what I have… but campy record are awesome…

good cranks, and a fair price:

Best feeling cranks? Omniums. They’re solid and beefy as hell…
Cranks I use daily? Dura Ace 7600… just because I got them at a deal. They feel the same as 75’s to me.
Best looking cranks out? Campy for sure.

those miche cranks are sweet I rode a set a few years ago. great option.

I’m on the bontragers because I was able to EP them for very cheap too. but I do like them a lot. and they’re stiffer than my frame so thats stiff enough.

dura ace Are the shit mostly because the BB is amazing until you need to overhaul it. I think its like 72 or more 1/8" bearings in there.

That Campy Record track grouppo is like $1000 right there.

For a Concept you should be running Omniums.

Favorite track crank for track use on a newish bike: Omnium

Favorite track crank for track use on a Japanese bike: Superbe

Favorite track crank for track use on anything other than a Japanese bike: Campy (C-Record > new Record)

Favorite track crank for street use: Superbe, unless it’s classic Italian then it needs Campy

Aye, and it has come down a lot in price in the last year.

Anyone ever try to get the logo off a set of those bontragers.

I like my two sets of RD’s just fine, put I think I’ll either but 75s or dura-ace on the upcoming Panasonic build.
Or that Miche. That’s hot fire.

edit: The campy record crank is hot too. I have the headset and it’s quite nice. My Italian heritage also makes me lean toward dago componantry, but it seems wrong to put em on a japanese bike.

not a huge fan of 75’s definitely much better options for the cash. those bonts look sick, maybe they will end up on a ss cx build XD. omniums seem choice for legit track use, otherwise RD’s.
