You're gunna hurt yourself: Carry Shit Olympics (aka the Cargo Bike thread)

I know some of the DIY kits do a removable battery.

I’m biased toward front-loaded bikes because I like to have eyes on the cargo and the weight distribution is better. I’m very biased toward sled-style bullit bikes but after seeing @karl_dandleton and @spaghetti with their Crust forks, I would put that in my top considerations.

So the move might be another dead ender with a Crust fork and mid drive kit?

That’s some excellent dithering and tinkering…

Yeah that or a bullitt will be my next move.

If you wanna do another road trip, I’ve got an Omnium frame that would love to return to the PNW.

When I was at lunch I saw a guy ride by on what looked like a Bullitt, but it had like a truss frame cargo area and looked like much smaller tubing overall.

Would, whatever it is.

Oooh!

While we’re on the topic of eBullitts…. What’s the thought on STEPS e6100 vs the newer EP8? Is it worth another bong?

Looks like more torque…but both can upgrade to the bigger 630WH battery.

Omnium + Free Radical + Yak?

I haven’t felt the need to upgrade to the ep8. My anecdotal experience is that it’s quieter and smoother. The e6100 carries me and 150lb of stuff up a 2 mile hill with no wish to go any faster or to work less hard.

unless you need the yak for snak- just put the bike on it and ride home!

Probably this?

I’ll bet that thing is amazing to ride and a total nightmare to maintain.

i shudder to think about riding without e-assist, but those sure do smooth the fuck out of some bumpy field

???

I’d imagine it would ride as slushily as any other boinger, but surely that won’t make it unridable?

I dunno, the one I saw was a pale green and that doesn’t seem like a bike you take apart to repaint

no, the e assist make it worse to ride without the assist on.
