slushier than most 120/130 trail bikes plus the motor drag
Oh, I get it; you’re talking about riding a motorbike with the motor on or off, not riding a motorbike vs justabike.
yeah, electric vs acoustic is a different experience.
that and the squish is notably less dialed than a high end fs mtb
Ok talk to me more about these kinda kits. The idea of a mid drive kit and a Crust fork is getting more and more appealing. What am I looking for, what am I avoiding, what can I skip installing (display? throttle?)
I did a pretty minimal set-up on mine. IIRC it’s something like
- Battery
- Motor
- Rear wheel speed sensor
- Display
so no throttle, no shift sensor, no brake cut-offs, pretty simple.
Hardest parts for me were a) rivnutting the downtube for the battery mount, b) getting the motor situated tight enough to not rotate itself loose (this is kinda Big Dummy specific), and c) I had issues getting the crank arms torqued on right at first (this was probably a me problem).
I got mine from this website:
At the time you could get it with a neat little SW102 display that is really unobtrusive, but it seems like they don’t offer that anymore which sucks shartmo because the huge kit displays are the biggest downside
Hauled and impounded some abandon bikes using cargo bikes for work today. Not sure where the trike is from but the black cargo bike is a Cetma. Had one of those internal hub CVT transmission. Pretty nice.
A fuckin CETMA! Wild!
How’d it ride?
First time riding a cargo bike but a little twitchy. Difficult to maintain a straight line even with one hand. Maybe it’s more stable with a load? I only hauled a single frame and a few wheels. The CVT hub was really nice though.
the only time I rode a cetma it had too slack a headtube angle and too much flop so it kept trying to take off for the bushes.
shit that was like 12 years ago.
I’m still mad they stopped the 7-rail
I still have a 5-rail if anyone wants it.
Pizz brand makes knock off cetmas
cetmas are knock off cetmas
Talk to me about Clydesdale boxes/baskets
Wald 1275 seems to be the go to basket but what else y’all like?
Jake and Ryan both had milk crates when I saw them.
big ant medium crate. it’s so so good.
i’ve had mine for 5 years now and i still love it. voile straps fit through the slits in it and make for great anchor points. line bottom with closed cell foam if you are so inclined for a cush ride
I’m also using a BIG ANT medium on a different bike and enjoy it. It’s nice to be able to collapse it to carry bigger stuff.
Bought mine here
@Rusty_Piton sup with that Omnium? Slightly interested and I could walk it to my place if it’s not rideable.
It’s just a frameset right now. Headsets are installed and the webbing deck is installed but otherwise it’s a bare frameset.
I think I have a cheapy pants 20” wheel with a tire on it that I’d include.
