Hard glue keeps the socket from wiggling/stretching around on the shaft
This is like a 50x boost to durability, because they wear primarily from the stretching/pinching of the rubber and not from direct abrasion. When they do eventually abrade through the face of the feet, the glue keeps the rest of the socket from floating up the shaft and the fringes keep gripping until you get around to working on it
It also makes them grip better and simpler without squirming around at all, especially for thicker lower durometer feet like these cane/walker parts
Gorilla glue is best for this.
You donāt wrestle them off, instead you slice the remaining soft rubber off with a knife and sand off any hard detrirus thatās sticking up too much
I used GG to goop em on.
I donāt think theyād have stayed on for one single deployment of the kickstand without the glue. They just slid right on with no resistance. I didnāt bother with reinstalling the little screws that the stock feet had.
Three days in, so far so good.
What brakes would tarck reccomend for a bullit whose magura mt5s are reaching end of life and arenāt serviceable at caliper or lever (thanks magura).
Will obviously have to re-hose front to work so easy bleedability would be a plus.
Iām presently inclined towards a mid range set of shimano 4 pistons since theyāre easiest to get in prison island and are more likely to be servicable.
These current maguras are the only hydraulic brakes Iāve ever owned/worked on so I donāt know what the pros and cons across different brands are.
I was actually surprised by Magura being a pretty easy bleed and impressed by the push and pull from the caliper.
Shimano is also pretty easy bleed. Shimano largely is easier and most just require putting the cup at the lever and flick lever blade to get air bubbles to come out.
Even Deore 4 piston with metal pads would be pretty solid. SLX gets you easier to turn lever reach, xt gets you drillium feel on blade and free stroke that nobody uses besides bleeding. I bet non-series would also be acceptable (though US-side it looks like the regular deores can be found for about the same price as non-series mt501/mt520 setup).
I replaced the stock maguras on my Bullitt with some SLX jobbers. Needed all 3000mm worth of hose that came in a jagwire hose kit for just the front so now I have mismatched hose colors.

we do the cheaper gspec slates when the maguras go on our fleet of 8 bullitts. mineral oil, nod horrible to service, sram-esque lever feel (not servowave, which i love but not necessarily the best fora fleet of not-necessarily-bike-people)
OK this thing is fuggin rad, so stoked yāall convinced me to go with the class 3 because cruising at 20mph is pretty effortless. Put Ritchey Koyote bars on it, thinking a shorter stem will be atmo. Got some dithering to do before the first school run but should be GTG by Monday morning.
Iām still fairly happy with my non-eswoop but the RFA that I test rode was so much fun even with two kids on it. Just make sure you stock up on the accessories you want, Iām finding that for my 2018 model a bunch of the compatible stuff is discontinued.
Got the kid schlepping end sorted out, milk crate panyeah FTW. Ride up to our favorite suburban hell garage themed burger joint for the big maiden voyage.
Iām really impressed with the SLX two-pots that I put on my party hardtail. Best brakes in my fleet, gotta recalibrate my finger whenever I hop on that bike.
