Thanks all. I have ended up ordering non-series shimano 4 pots as they were on sale and easiest to get parts for in prison island.
You wonât be disappointed.
the cheaper non-series calipers are usually barb/olive instead of fancy banjo fittings which makes longer custom hose routing a fuckload easier
Oh God just when I thought I was starting to understand hydros now you throw this at me. WTF are banjo fittings?
Banjo fittings are what you have on the end of brake lines for cars/motorcycles/etc and also some higher end bike stuff apparently
Check out the custom longtail that ProWheelBuilder.com uses to haul shipments to the post office or whatever.
The top corners of my canopy are starting to get worn through from rubbing on cars and doorways and stuff. Is there some kind of protective tape or something thatâs better than duct tape I can stick on there to slow the wear process? This thing wasnât cheap!
You might try some dacron sail repair tape. Made to stick to polyester, specifically for high-chafe areas. Looks like they have some at the west marine on halsted:

Thanks! That looks like just the stuff! I hope it sticks well to the coated(?) nylon of the canopy.
noso gear repair tape might be another option.
I think that the tent patch stuff would wear through the second it dragged along the length of a box truck. The fabric that is abraded is pretty stern stuff and itâs almost worn out in just over a year of near-daily use, so I think down jacket or tent patch stuff wouldnât help much.
Maybe cut some appropriately sized PVC pipe lengthwise to fabricate sliders? Attach them with velcro or somshit?
I like slider idea - I was think 3d print
Thatâs a good idea. Iâll look into it if/when the tape fails.
Or metal sliders for some sparks when clipping a car
skateboard wheels as abrasion pucks.
RE tape, maybe this could be atmoâŚ

not sure how great itâd stick to fabric though.
that would stick to a slider, but PEX pipe is already made out of polyethylene and cheap enough to be sacrificial
Kinda ugly option but
