I see, this thing is a presumably small batch produced bike, and now they did this third wheel thing.
yeah it was already a “what if omnium with engineering tho” design
and this trailing sidecar pivot appears to be an attachment mounted to the same bosses as the cargo rack

But like the point of riding a bike in the city is that they’re not several feet wide…
I do really like that though. I’d totally use a full size sidehack to bring my kids to school.

Yeah sometimes I find myself wanting a 2-wheel trailer then I remember all the bullshit I typically need to navigate on my bike around here and it seems risky
i flipped a burley (with my son in it) and it’s now a core memory for him, so i vote yes on two wheel trailer for that reason alone.

Ash spectacularly flipped the burley with Rol in it by cutting a turn too tight and hitting the curb with one wheel of the trailer. It was pretty terrifying for all involved.

mine was taking a hard right off camber at full speed, with him sitting on the left side of the trailer. totally worth it

I rolled a red wagon with both boys in it when the y were little at the flea market, taking a turn too tight. Onlookers were horrified.
I drunkenly rolled the bullitt at low speed with sup in the front and some nice Irish tourists helped us up

And tbh omnium mini is probably the smartest omnium but it should have been a 650 rear wheel vs a 700. I have an opinion that goes further on this

I was trying to to turn my Xtracycle around on a sidewalk by hand (not riding it) and dumped it over with my 4yo in the back. He was 100% unfazed and just hopped back in. I have a massive cut and goose egg on my shin.

On a cargo bike that weighs at most 40lbs you only get to carry about that much
But I also think spending too much energy on an opinion is futile as things change too often

Omnium Mini is $1300 for the frameset. Seems reasonable to me.
The Monopole is that much.
