You're gunna hurt yourself: Carry Shit Olympics (aka the Cargo Bike thread)

it was still like 2 feet wider than our Honda Fit which already barely fits in the garage width wise.

I’m thinking about overall size for agility in the mountains maneuverability in the city and storage inside a flat while not becoming unwieldy with ~50lb+ loads

Cheese needs a trailer

I’m wary of trailers especially for this use case— I don’t think it solves the maneuverability problem and definitely doesn’t make it easier to store in a flat

depends on the trailer. the bob trailer is pretty compact if you can hang it somewhere.

I would not store any cargo bike in an apartment

Back on my nonsense with the emergency randonneuse:

(After tearing it down completely to convert it to disco lyfe I’m riding it a bit, building up a bit, and repeating until it’s back to normal. Except this time I’m splurging and buying a pair of maximally skinny Honjo[*] fenders instead of putting back the 700c planet bike ones that were on it in the first place.)

[*]: Honjo instead of v-o because, sadly, v-o 650b fenders are sized for fat tires and I’m not going to put anything bigger than a ConfrĆ©rie under this machine.

I’ve had a nice set of honjo sitting around for a 650x42 but then realized there is no way im fitting it between the seat stays on the rear. Currently a 700x32 sized fender on there keeping my butt dry but it sure is ugly.

I think it’s too extreme even for that, though I have that series bookmarked for future use

It was much easier than I expected

If you’re not planning on using the fenders otherwise what’s to lose by whacking at them with a stick?

Dad! Clemmy is stepping on me!

Back on my nonsense, but this time at Costco:

Only about 55 pounds, but I was 7 wavy miles away from home. And, yes, I’ve not yet put the shiny new (Honjo, because all the V-O 650b ones are for fat tires :-() fenders onto this machine yet.

One of these days I’ll get around to stripping it down to the frameset and get it powdercoated. But not today.

Is that a bike locker thing behind you there?

As a parent of a 4yo I approve of your fig bar purchase

Yes! It’s one of those cheese-wedge style ones that’s not big enough to fit a bike+trailer

We love those as pocket snacks when skiing, they aren’t as affected by cold as other snacks and you can share!

Canada Jays love the crumbs they create too!

@EndpointBraden or @Andpoint_Endy I was looking up something on the Outpost site and notice y’all have a couple Bombtrack Munroe Cargos. I know nothing about those and don’t think anyone here has one, what’s your take on em? Cromulent? Tern sandwich?
