Full build costs less than monopole
Hopefully the Nano’s 125 kg max rating doesn’t include the weight of the bike itself.
Unrelated, a very cute video of a kid riding that cargo balance bike
saw a guy on an electric scooter with a basket installed on the handlebars and some sort of ratchet strap setup towing a shopping cart. dude was zipping too
Man, I love that. Can you actually buy Omniums in the US right now?
Not sure
I believe distro was in chicago
omniumcargo.us shows this
seems like you can still enter a US address though. and weirdly it made the CXC that’s on sale about 400 euro cheaper once i entered my address
Welcome back, Orbea Katu!
euros gotta pay VAT
we Americans just pay our secret surprise tax when it shows up at our door I guess
That bike has to handle a lot higher max load, in the EU they basically carry over the lowest validated/tested capacity of the weakest component and call it a day.
If my skinny-ass 1" steerer 700c cross bike can carry my heavy ass without issue for 15 years, then a decent hand-built 20" wheelset on that bike should be even better. It just comes down to the spoke number and choice, right?
I eventually want to replace my Croix de Fer with a small footprint cargo bike that isolates the load from steering, and I think that might be the one. I’ll look circus-bear stupid, but it’ll be so fun.
this is an interesting feature that I guess is on the full size ones also?
that purple sparkle though
Dang, that is an awesomely great feature. Even with normal basket-bikes the width of a big 'ol Wald can get annoying, not just for storing bikes but for carrying next to others on a car rack etc.
Or train cars!
An e one of these would put me in real trouble
A buddy in Santa Fe just did this
I’ve been thinking about this or similar for a while
There are some optimizations I would add: stiffer springs and remote lockout
@Jacobell you should meet this person
Dude that’s Blake he lives across the street. Like literally 5 houses down. We aren’t friends yet.
Dude
I just sent him a message on strava
He’s an old Portland bro
