Starts with one bad apple, then two, then peer pressure does the rest.
I put the old b17 from my xtra on the Bullitt when I got home. Hope it stops the creak.
Looking at the enfeebled xtra in the garage makes me sad. It’s missing the front wheel and saddle. I might just tear it down.

Used bike adventures! With my Big Dummy, I pulled the deck off to install fenders. Turns out all the little button Allen heads were pre-rounded out for me! I had to drill every single one of them off! Still worth it for the price I guess but it’s weird how these A+ condition used bikes are still somehow riddled with little issues lol
This is why I’d never buy a used car that I needed to get me anywhere reliably. Everything always seems fine till the previous owners band aid falls off. It goes 2 ways though my TDI was always a nightmare of electrical issues. Had them mostly addressed. 90k on it. Contractor my dad knew wanted it. He asked if I had done timing belt yet. I said no I haven’t but it’s scheduled soon. 2 weeks later the timing belt blew and roasted the engine.
That kicks ass. I bought a mower today and wished I had a trailer for once. Ended up taking the car
A mower has wheels! Tow that shit home.
I’ve been having trailer thoughts for a little while now. Overheard a coworker recently talking about clearing out her druggie brother’s storage unit and she wasn’t sure what to do with the probably stolen bike trailer. That was tempting, but too much bad energy.

Why not take the trailer off her hands for free, try and return it to the owner through the police/bike shops/local bike forums and keep it if the owner isn’t found/it turns out to be not-stolen? I’d imagine she won’t go looking for the owner if you don’t, and if it ends up in landfill that doesn’t benefit anyone.
That’s a really great idea.
Even though it’s been a few months, I should ask if she still has it.

What’s an okay 27.2 dropper post for cagrobiek? I’d need 150mm travel to fit both sup and me, wouldn’t need a remote.
Or should I just put a QR clamp on the frame and have two seatposts with preset stops that we swap out?
not going to get more than 110mm of travel in 27.2, and the “okay” ones stop at fixed positions
just put a shaft collar on seatpost at sup’s position so it’s easy for them
optional: when it’s at your height, fix a cable between the two clamp bolts to keep it from going higher
I always wanted to use a dropper post at work for varied rider heights. Eventually we resigned to just a QR (and a cable to deter theft) but if it’s just a couple people I feel like a QR with preferred height scratched/etched into the post would be sufficient. If someone is riding a cargo bike I have to assume they know how to change seatpost height.
I do like the idea of separate posts/saddles with a height clamp on each. You drop it in, it stops at the clamp, you tighten the actual QR or clamp and good to go. At that point the only problem would be theft deterrence which is of course dependent on your circumstance.
Do this WITH a 110mm dropper be because nothing is better on a cargo bike than a dropper.
i must have told you guys about the day we were moving from boston to rochester. i drove ahead in the moving truck. my wife had a few final things to grab and then drove in the minivan. two of the things to grab were two propane tanks i’d JUST had refilled.
my mother in law, who was going to “help” with the drive, threw a crying fit saying how dangerous it was to drive with propane tanks. literally would not let my wife put them in the car.
we left them at the old house. i called some friends who picked them up, so at least they got a nice gift.
as far as i’m concerned, that stupid woman owes me $120 or whatever it costs for the tanks + fill.
HOW DOES SHE THINK PEOPLE TRANSPORT PROPANE TANKS
I did it on my bike.
