I’ve been curious too but one of the things I have actually found I like about drop bars is that they don’t put me in the bear-hug position. 46cm is good across the hoods and I could see going out another cm or two in the drops, but I don’t really understand what circumstances necessitate a wide drop bar like that. Feel like at that point you might as well just get some sort of alt bar and save some money by buying mtb controls.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I see drop bars as being for stretching out a little and getting a little aero most of the time, with options for upright and more aero if you want. Putting the hoods outside your shoulders seems to eliminate the “stretching out and getting a little aero” advantage.

50 Euro shipping to US
Fuck I want one

I think it’s about being like Mr Ultra Instagram

I’m interested as well. I’ve been wanting something I can take the kiddo to the market on weekends.

DANG. I just spent all my extra bike money on a road frame and fork. :frowning:

I may have missed it, but I couldn’t find and measurements in regards to fit, mainly saddle height.

I’m interested for poopbarning, surely 610mm on the hoods can’t be that bad…

I’ve been following these guys for a little! Think I hit them up about importing the US at some point but could have been one of the Japanese equivalent brands.

Xmas tree hauling made easy, and it’s toddler-approved:

Someone here is riding a Bullitt with Jones bars yes? Can you comment on how well that’s working out?

They are fine. Not amazing, not bad…Had to go super short on the stem though.

The best part of having them is the hand placement for kids on toptube

how does it not suck to have your kids weight that far out in front?

I’m using a longjohn cargo bike these days, and my kid sits basically below the handlebars, which doesn’t throw the weight off that much; one backpack full of groceries near the front wheel make the bike handle all wonky.

Honestly I only notice it when they are being dicks and throwing their weight side-to-side up front. The big kid (~5yo) on the top-tube is a bit weirder for me because the CoG is higher. But either kid (not both) up front is fine.

EDIT: looking at that photo again the seat probably looks further up than it is - there is room for a big shopping bag pizza between the kids seat and the front wheel, so they sit ~mid-deck

Oop yeah I misunderstood the configuration. How many more years do you think you can con your kid into sitting on the TT like that?

FOLLOWUP QUESTION: did you do anything particularly clever to mount your front light, or was it just some of the ol’ twisty-bendy with a normal heavy wire bracket? Right now my front light is powerfully illuminating the top of the front fender and kinda the road as well

I suspect they’ll want to sit up there longer than I want them to, but i’d guess at least until 6. The wider they get the harder it becomes for me to pedal around their butts…maybe a shorter saddle would help with that

Nope, just the standard Bumm Eyc fork mount. Illumination isn’t great being so low, but still useable
