got run off the road by a driver today. took tarck’s advice and didn’t engage.
he was waiting for me up the road out of his car, with a baseball bat.
guess it wasn’t great advice.

I mean it kinda seems like you biked away from him after he got out of the car instead of getting ran over by a pissed off guy who was still in a car but if you want to immediately escalate next time, by all means!

oh no that’s the thing, it absolutely does. it’s just that most people simply go insane instead of recognizing what’s driving them nuts and changing their behaviors to avoid such things.

The delivery drivers on scooters started taking over DC about 6-9 months ago after a “fly e-bikes” store opened up down the street. Despite the name I’m pretty sure they exclusively sell gas powered moped style scooters.
I’m all for having them on mopeds and not in cars but they drive like they are on bikes, running lights and stop signs. I don’t particularly think that’s ok on a several hundred pound vehicle with a throttle.
To make matters worse they have started using the bike lanes and even the multi-use-paths in the city. That’s about the only time I engage is tell them to fuckoff out of the bike lanes and MUPs.
During COVID/George Floyd Protests the DC cops decided to stop enforcing any sort of traffic laws so it’s jungle rules out there now.

Anyone commute with a helmet camera? Seems like that would deter some driver aggressiveness
