I’m not sure what’s going on outside my office right now but I’m sure it’s some sort of jackassery.
The city built this pretty great little bike lane spur thing to help cyclists coming off the Lakefront Trail get across Sheridan to the decent new bike lanes on Berwyn, but the spot where the westbound rider is meant to wait for the light is only “protected” by a handful of flexi posts which have already been run over at least once in the week or so they’ve been there. It’s pretty scary sitting there broadside to traffic, staring down the barrel of Sheridan Road with nothing for protection but some flimsy plastic.

Haaha almost got killed crossing the street at a marked crosswalk, yelled and flipped off the driver then heard sirens from the cop car right behind him. Dumb fucker.

one of my go to inflammatory comments that is rooted in truth is “it is legal to kill someone with a car in America.” people usually disagree with this, but I’ve seen enough news articles to know that in most circumstances, it’s literally true as long as you’re sober and stick around to say sorry afterwards.
does anyone know of an online database of all the incidents where people driving cars get a slap on the wrist for killing someone with their car while sober?
