All things NuMTB thread, now lower longer and slacker

They are just warming up and probably working on their flat cornering speeds/technique before sending it ferda girls™.

You can upgrade all new components, you can not upgrade all new geometry.

Pretty much this, you have to decide if that is a deal breaker for you. Also If you go with the Revelation RC you could always opt for the MRP RCC over the more expensive Charger.
Here’s the 2017 geo:

And here’s 2018:

Another consideration is. Do you want to ride with the guy selling the other one? If so, don’t stiff him by buying the new version of what he’s got.

That video gives me all of it errytime

Oh didn’t realize that the 2017 had the old geometry. Get the new one and never think about the old one ever again.

to be fair, my process is basically the old scout, and it’s pretty great as a well-rounded trail bike. Though once I put a longer travel fork on it, it definitely became a better bike in the downs (i have little opinion on the ups, since I suck in all terrain regardless of bike)

If you have no plans of getting a longer travel bike, then def get the 2018. Hell, probs want the new one regardless since I imagine it’ll hold resale better. NX is aight, just replace it with what you want when you break it.

He has a patrol too and doesn’t even ride the scout. I’m not too worried about it. I didn’t even know about the MRP RCC I’ll have to check that out. The more I think about it, I think I might be happier with the 2018 in the long run. I haven’t had a brand new complete bike in about 8 years so that will be pretty cool I guess.

New bikes are neat. I’m just trying to play the other side.

Oh man, my heart goes out to everyone. That’s horrible.

In unrelated news, I do not love flat pedals. :colbert:

Seeing the bros riding w/o gloves freaked me out. I know it’s a parody, but still…

Fuck that hunting accident is so heart breaking…

@tehschkott: welcome to the club man, always clipped in at all times.

@Rent-to-own-Faxmachine: have you never seen Sam Blenkinsop ride the WC DH circuit or Crankworx? No gloves all the time and most races in a short sleeve with no elbow pads, it’s a thing for some riders.

That hunting accident is scary for sure. A lot of our trails out here are on state park or land trust land and allow hunting; we’ve seen people wandering around with guns on several occasions while out riding and a few of the trails have tree stands etc. I’m a bit paranoid so I have a blaze orange helmet and carry extra hunting vests for me + friends.

I tried out flat pedals for the first time in a long time at the bike park this weekend. I liked them for aggressive cornering but I got bounced around a lot on bumpy descending and had a little trouble keeping my feet on them in the air. I was riding modern pedals with metal screws/pins and 5.10 shoes so I don’t think it’s a gear issue. Next time I’m going to ride clipless I think.

I think I’m going back to clipless. Sure I’ll put em on to learn how to bunny hop and manual and wheelie and whatnot, but yeah, it’s a tough transition. I’m not equal to it just yet.

I may do this too next spring when the trails aren’t as bad. Flats sure are nice through the winter.

do folx still put helicopter tape on rub points? is the 3m stuff good? i was gunna do my headtube & the underside of the dt on the trance, there’s already a chainstay saver thing. only askin coz my anthem has some fucked up paintwork
