All things NuMTB thread, now lower longer and slacker

Lmao Marino is like the Rodriguez of mountain bikes, they really will just build whatever you ask for, no matter how ass it will be

I haven’t noticed backswept bars feeling bad for putting hands at the steering axis, mostly that it feels kinda weird out of the saddle

the new boostmonster looks better than that original. damn where those fuckers just steep and short. Funny he is now realizing he could have gone longer.

Yes

But more so in rocky steep off camber sections

Finally got out for first mtb ride since December. Still got it. Can’t wait to go again.

Love the Honda Fit test @quilbert420

Dominions are the best non boutique brake

I love how all the commenters are butthurt that the dominions don’t rank in their top 3. My dudes, those are the brakes they like. they never said anything was wrong with the dominions. But these commenters do the same with their bike tests. Oh, this one was in top 3 in times descent, climbs, etc. But it doesn’t win. yeah, because the humans didn’t like it as much at the other ones in total.

But fit test I wonder how much the slack would have had on the results, as it looked to really yank Matt harder a few different times.

(browser bugged out and never posted, so this is funny seeing their new podcast title)

hahaha, I am with the mob. Dominions rock. Have fun with the 30 step bleed process and inevitable quality issues on Mavens bros.

Agree about the yazz test slack in the rope. I think Lewis got robbed, but you could tell they like don’t bro down with the Lewis rep or whatever so it was easy to pan that one.

lol

Are Hopes boutique? Because I have Hope Tech 3’s that are so good they ruined other brakes for me.

something in-between at this point?

I still want a set of Hope brakes after all these years, though I do like how close to the bar the Maven’s run. Would play a lot nicer with my poopbarning handlebar harness.

the hd6 came with a shitty KS post
i accidentally left it down for a month or two?? and now it sinks real bad when sitting on it

why do they keep putting these garbage posts on bikes?

anyway, so i’m trying to sort out the best replacement. i like fox posts, but they don’t have anything in stock in their pro shop that will fit (34.9, currently have 170mm travel but have 7cm of exposed post so up to 225 would be fine).
looked at axs just for shits, nothing in stock at sram in 34.9 (at least according to their website).

i like my bike yoke but i dunno if i can get a discount and $$$ otherwise.

not sure what to do

not fucking around with a disposable cartridge on the KS. may try to warranty it, it’s under 1 year old, but i would like a better post anyway.

wth just logged into fox pro and there was no discount. Gotta rectify that.

What about PNW Loam gen 2 post? Those are pretty solid, i think. I had a refurb gen 1 and it never gave me issues.

oneup???

any major differences between the one up and the pnw, besides i see that the one up has a bit less stack? (not really an issue for me on this particular bike).

the PNW is a bit cheaper

think i’m just gonna roll the dice on the pnw as i got a coupon from them and i need to get my bike dropped off for a tune up next week as i just pay my ex for service so he takes it for 2 weeks until we trade the dog again, and i want to send him with new parts to install.

Not sure if you got the pnw or want to mess with shims but I really like the bikeyoke revive I got on my mojo. Hasn’t really required any service in the past 5 years. Thinking of getting this since the price is pretty good, but not sure what size my pending hardtail will take

I have a bikeyoke on my ripmo.. But I need a 34.9 post, which i didnt really find any great deals on.
I’m not sure if bikeyoke does any direct deals, but couldnt justify them at msrp (3x what i paid for the pnw), and their online store seemed to be based out of Germany so it didnt seem like a quick option.

ironically, hanging my bike by the seatpost with the post extended seems to have largely fixed the ks, but the pnw will still be a slight upgrade with 30mm more travel.
