All things NuMTB thread, now lower longer and slacker

That’s a pretty banging cost on the BikeYoke. I know it is v2, but still below cost. Sup has one on her stumpy and it is pretty trick and was always one of the smoothest post I’ve felt.

test rode both a s3 & s4 stumpjumper, both felt pretty good, there was no real winner between the 2 sizes

couldn’t make a decision so left empty handed

I’ve always gone up, but now I’m finally thinking I’m gonna drop down and try a medium as larges keep still creeping up in length. But seat tube still keep getting shorter so i feel like I’m gonna have a mile of seatpost on a medium.

I wish I went with less length on my dropper

Cached wood for this project 2 years ago. Finally went up last night and got started. Finished the job today.

Lessons learned:

  • Cut wood exactly to size before carrying it up the hill. These planks could be narrower and probably will be once I go back for detail work. I could have cut them to 3/4 the size and so could have carried less wood up.
  • A 5 gallon bucket is the ultimate UL chair / multipurpose tool
  • Canola oil makes great chainsaw bar lubricant

If you plan on riding that when it’s wet, you might want to cover it with chicken wire or some water sealant with play sand mixed in.

It is pitched a few degrees downslope with the idea that water will run off of it. But I am prepared to do more if necessary. But not a lot of riding happens when it is wet here. The ground is not conducive to it.

I like the water sealant and sand idea. I’ve never heard of that.
