IDK if the US is needed but I am lazy and my dad owns the US so its a win win win. No shake and bake.
I also skipped the Ultrasonic and did the solvent+shake+soak thing, wax seems to be staying on my chains.
What brand?
I’m a broken record here, but again, Bikepacking coming in hot with another excellent and HUGE article. They’re in their good years right now, like Cycling Tips in 2017 or Dirt Rag the whole time it existed.
edit: fucking look at that estimated reading time! I usually keep these bad boys open in a browser tab for like a week.
It has been weird paying attention a little bit to this scene again after being out of the loop for some years. Like yeah damn. Lots going on.
lots of big events, a bit of innovation in how people set their bikes up.
I’m excited to see what TCR and TABR (mostly road) setups are like this year.
Not that much innovation tho. Like I haven’t seen anything that would change the way I do things. Also: not racing.
What I find interesting is that the locations and routes they write up are very relevant to my interests. Like damn I’ve been dreaming of going back to the Atlas mtns with my own bike since 2016! Such a dreamy (also very complicated) place.

The jokes really write themselves.
Wtf that price.
6K USD is pretty normal for an electric cargo bike, for better or worse.
At that price, it would really have to replace a car to work for me, but they do seem to sell, so what do I know.
Bosch bakfiets with decent accessories seems not bad, but 9k usd feels pricey
The box bike comes with the box, two kid seats, lights, suspension fork, dropper post, center stand, eBike drivetrain, etc. It’s a LOT of money, but also seems to be a flagship product.
The most interesting thing to me is it (the box bike) has cable steering with a 1:3 ratio.
Shop around, it’s definitely priced according to the market.
i think they meant to write 1:1.3. 65*1.3=84.5
it does appear to be a pretty great cargo bike but i’d rather not have the enviolo
Ah. Yeah that makes way more sense.
the hell are they making everyone do so much math for. Just be like “our bike steers ok”.
1:3 would be exciting and terrifying no matter which way the ratio ran.
I wonder what parts availability will be like for DIYers or those looking to convert an existing bike.
if the cable steerer on my Yuba Supermarche is any guide, most of the parts look like they’d be pretty easy to find via a hardware supplier or to get machined.
