But then how does that differ from Manitou? I mean, they started as a UK company.

It’s also not quite that cut and dry. We don’t have a football team named the Washington derogatory term for Jews even though they’re no longer considered oppressed.

Err, found the wrong Manitou timeline, but whatever. Point still stands whether they make shocks or forklifts.

not 100% sure this is true

OK, insert Krauts then. Or Micks. Or Goombahs. Sorry for the bad example.

I don’t think they knew that they did anything wrong. You don’t really learn much about that part of American history in Eastern Europe. I’m all for calling them out on social media but the language people were throwing in their direction was ridiculous. Be civil ffs.

Also comes off as typical Americans expecting everyone else on the planet to know everything about the USA.

I still don’t care.

Ok Melania.

Ps. Melania autocorrects to Milano’s. Which is a local pizza place. #priorities

the jew comment is a bit of a wake up for me (not offended by anyone on here mentioning it). every once in a while i forget how complacent i am as a non-impoverished white male in the united states and then i remember that i’d be hesitant to ever get a tattoo identifying myself as jewish (i view my tattoos as a scrapbook of my life, all two of them so far) and remember that i took a birthright trip for the free israel visit and boy that put me on a lot of mailing lists and probably some other lists i don’t know about.
i think if we can all carry this attitude into our normal lives it reaches farther than we realize, especially if we speak up when we can. good on nütarck for being more “woke” and also keeping grains of salt in stock.

can we all keep this in mind and get back to poking fun at han jeine?

does he even have fun anymore?
or is it more of an angry old man yells at clouds scenario?

What’s going on here? Did he poop so hard his handlebars went the other way?

Check out the recommended volume for (29er) MTB tires:

“And if you’re wondering, they’ve tested just adding water to the sealant, but it didn’t work.”

That’s unfortunate

I have four bottles of the FL sealant sitting on my workbench. Haven’t bothered to open even one of 'em.

After the myriad failures of Finish Line sealant and the shortcomings I experience with Slime, I am done experimenting for a while. Orange Seal (and Stan’s, though I haven’t used it in probably three years) has worked for me for so long now that I don’t see any reason to fuck with a good thing.

I went to the Bicycle Quarterly Unmeeting this past weekend and had a great time.

The real standout portion of the event was when a guy named Reed pulled out his portable ultrasonic thickness measuring device which he had extensively tuned and calibrated for thinwall steel bicycle tubing at home. He used a special bottle of lubricant (?) which allowed the probe to get a tight seal on the tube at both butts & center. He explained to us how the probe was able to ignore the paint/powdercoat since it was tuned to only respond to steel.
He proceeded to measure the main triangle of a couple dozen bikes and record all the information. Looking forward to looking at his published specs.

I was able to capture a couple of my readings but got distracted by friends a few times so didn’t get it all. Realized while I was documenting that I likely only have an S3 TT and the DT and ST are likely OX Platinum.
