kalloy uno?
I’m kind of bummed to hear about Ritchey being a Trumpite. I always had a soft spot for him, although I guess I never really had any solid knowledge about who he was as a person. My impression of him was that he was kind of a square, but otherwise a good guy. Oh well, I don’t own a Ritchey anything.
Just curious… it appears his wife gave $1,000 to the Senate Conservatives Fund about a year after they were married. Nothing under her maiden name and nothing by Tom himself.

I paid Fred $10 for a ritchey seatpost half a decade ago on a downtown Seattle street corner. I didn’t realize I was buying second hand jeezbo libertarian aluminum made in Taiwan. I feel… Fuck it it’s a great seatpost.
Seatposts are pretty much all the same. I’d ride one that looked like a penis so long as it didn’t slip.
Actually I’d ride one that looked like a penis in a lot of conditions.
I bought a billion Easton stems on super sale a few weeks ago so if you are trying to replace your Ritchey let me know
Scroll down and find the stuff about TR in this article:
Before I read that article: isnt Boyer a real real unsavory character?
Yes. The author refers to him as, “the child molester” more than a few times
None of the people profiled in that article come across as anything other than sociopaths.
Maybe it’s just time to quit having cycling heroes
Or heroes in general
Idk
Idc
Fuck
Yeah read it, they tackle it. Reads like a pr piece for project Rwanda as they expand it, tbh.
I don’t feel like I got much insight into ritcheys politics from it, besides that he came late to charitable work
Ah shit, and I have two ritcheys. At least I’ve never bought new Ritchey product? limiting to used is kind of what I do with Thomson product too. Whatevs
Also, I didn’t believe in fancy stems until I got a profile helm. That is a legitimately nice stem and definitely worth a look if you want a very expensive tiny chunk of anodized aluminum
nah he talks specifically about how carbon can be even better in a small diameter
He skips over the topic of where to put the flex because it’s not what they’re asking about
He’s really bringing up the “fork as crumple zone” because of the downstream effects, not for Grant Petersen “fix with a twig” reasons. The modern safety tests mean that the fork has to stay one piece under absurd loads in a test cell, so it ends up way too strong. Now the frame has to get beefy to match that, fucking up our planing feels.
So the only way to get a Ritchey wiggle bike is if he gets his libertarian utopia without crash testing? Savage.
fair enough, with the note that he doesn’t really actually say anything in the section I noted.
So why does a frame have to be enbeefed if the fork is sturdy? Is it like, the transitive principle or something?
tapered steerer really fucks with the front half of the bike
his bikes are a whole lot wigglier than most anything else you can buy from a real brand
and he’s made the only real marketed full-carbon disc forks with straight 28.6mm steerers

I have one of the <350g carbon 26" MTB forks they used to sell, but under a chinese name picasia/trigon — and it is insanely supple with hella brake windup but no brakesteer afaict
What did I miss? Ritchey is perhaps a Trump supporter so let’s not but his stuff now?
