No idea if this actually from the LA fires but there’s some big stuff going on here
carbon fiber mullet mtb
lol this ain’t hiroshima
Is this the place to say that Jan is now slangin’ a slick center/knobby outer tire and labeling it the best of both worlds? I thought his magic knobs weren’t any slower.
This is the place! (a bit upthread Bike blerg thread - #15285 by EndpointBraden )
Sort of looks like a Walmart bike too
That’s the amazing thing to me. Like I was selling people hybrid bikes all day long in the early 2000s and they almost all came with some version of this tire, which consumers loved because they could see that it would be fine on pavement but also do OK on all the crushed gravel paths around.
I don’t know if those hybrid tires were any good (certainly some of them were because I bought the nice versions for myself), but like it was so obvious even to the layperson why a tread like that might be nice to have for a multi-surface bike.
It’s clear that the cycling world has been waiting for a semi-slick that finally delivers—combining the speed of a slick with the traction of a knobby.
needs an ‘as seen on tv’ monochrome video of someone trying and failing to ride fast on pavement and keep traction on dirt with their semi-slick that isn’t delivering.
there must be an easier way!
also needs the flex tape guy slapping something on the tire
lol a customer bought a bike from the Bentonville, Specialized store and brought it to us for the build. Some mechanic accidentally shipped their notebook with it.
is sinyard’s son named hunter and an employee in bentonville by any chance?
Definitely read this as “another Sinyard launches…”
Hell yeah.
tarcklebee (to fred) for getting a katu on bikepacking dot com
Fred spends a katu and rides 18 tarck centuries
I took a sneaky photo of Fred riding that bike past me one day (maybe that day) but like 0.8 seconds later realized that was weird and didn’t post it.
And Tarckbear and the milsurp bag
