Bike blerg thread

I meant who in the discord

Dr. Welby was responded to that way.
I’m just another rando in the Discord.

The captions also replaced “derailleur” with “derder” at around 2:40. But, that’s not a tarckism.

Wouldn’t a 10 speed shifter only have 9 clicks

Yes I heard that too. I think that makes sense.

Oh you

you’re bringing 0-based indexing to a 1-based orthography for ordinals

Sorry 9 clicks but ten clacks.

The last click is dropping your chain into the spokes on a climb that’s too steep for you

Would be cool if bicycle brake rotors did this

I stopped and dripped sweat on one, one time and got a pretty impressive hiss

They do, but really need to be tortured.

I blued out a set of the expensive TRP rotors because I’m a fatty and went down a v steep road

I wanted to be in the Shimano setting for bb and rings, which meant GRX. GRX meant new FD that wasn’t CX-70. Am trying to get away from dither bb tools and niche ring interface formats like WI and RH use. Have had really good luck with Shimano bb’s for bang for buck and ease of install. I stayed away from HTII crank arms after so many seam failures, so went GRX 600.

Ah righto, didn’t catch the move to GRX chainline.

Someone could write a pretty good clickbait article about how all the advancement in gravel stuff since 2017 has barely moved the needle in event finish times.

There are offset FD shims that could potentially help keep that CX 70 in service

What other options are out there besides the Jtek? It looks like that’s cheaper now than last I checked on it. At the time, I swear it was less expensive just to find a new pusher instead of order one of those.

I have a 3d printable model in Thingiverse of an eccentric shim. If you don’t have a printer I can print it and send you one.

Oh wow, thanks. I’ll keep that in mind if I end up in that kind of dither in the future.
