Bike blerg thread

Why all the zits above the rear drop out?

Folks want options

Scholars are still researching this very question.

Tarcklebee excellency in dithering new fangled bike stuff not just talking about it.

Is braking performance affected by the larger wheels?

I went to MADE. It was cool. Lots of cool stuff.

Met @igor and he’s super nice. I might have accidentally been a dick to PLP Russ at the same time though. I think he made a joke about cameras but I didn’t hear him so I said “huh?” but with my permanent asshole face I probably glared at him without meaning to and he looked down and just kinda shuffled away. Felt bad.

I think I saw @frank_doktor too but I was in line for a coffee and didn’t see where he went and didn’t bump in to him again

Portland is a nice place to ride around.

Still don’t like riding bikes though.

Oh shit
Yeah I was standing next to Igor and some guy dropped his camera and it made that sound

“You’ll Never Guess Who Was Rude To Me At Made” next to a pic of Russ rubbing his chin.

I mean no shade, but as a 6’3" human I’m happy with 700c / 29 on all my nonsense and really have no interest in buying in to 32"

if i rode one and it was SO MUCH BETTER like 2x better than my 700c bikes i could be convinced

really the only way i would ever build a 32er is if i were the kind of person who builds unnecessary bikes out of morbid curiosity then never ride them. so im safe.

I’m planning for the inevitable whiplash and reduction:

Which brake levers are those?

I see what you did there

You all laugh, but the 30.5 would actually make a 60cm+ road/gravel frame as aesthetically balanced and pretty as a 54-56cm does with a 700c. And I’d want it for no other reason than that.

“The best bike is the one you ride”

Yeah I hope it’s obvious that I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything here. But it’s fun as hell and I’m excited to put more miles on it.

Seems like a successful business model for the bike industry to prioritize only customers more than 5’7" tall.

I’ve enjoyed your experimentation, and that Jones looks bizarrely normal with those wheels.

I’m just getting some fatigue of the industry pushing it on me from all directions.
