Bike parts that don't exist and we wish they did, but actually they do exist as not-bike parts

fuck that thing is huge.

I figured as much from the listing, but it was still a surprise when I opened the package. I already have a revelate (somewhere…) so this will be handy for larger things, like a beer run to fill the squealer or hold a camera and doodads/ solo cookset, whatever. It’s not like I’m out much money either.

I have 2 cetmas. I’m actually going to modify one of them this week. I’ll post pictures.

snagged one of those molle bags for camera use. Still figuring out the best way to give it a third tie down, probably just toe strap it to the headtube.

I haven’t found a need for a third strap on mine, but it rests against the backboard of the cetma.
And yeah, the cetma isn’t the best or fanciest rack but it’s been working for me for years.
It’s much better now that I replaced the original legs with adjustable Wald legs going to the mid-fork eyelets.

WRT better, fancier racks, has anybody used a pass & stow rack? They looks sweet but $$$.

I dove in on a pass and stow rack, after much deliberation. It’s a good rack for folks who want options (like me). I wanted one rack that would carry stuff on the platform and take panniers. I was really torn between that and the soma rack, but the pass and stow is so much more nicely done, and fits my bike well.

Took me a second to figure it out but I have several squealers (or at least I used to…) but having a full 32oz hanging off my bar doesn’t sound like much fun.

We’ve got a couple Revelate feedbags that we never use because like others we’re afraid of having them stolen. I should probably just get over that and start using them (though they may be collector’s items in the great poopbarning/dirtbag revival of 2036)

Oh I found that army basket bag we all love a lot in desert camo for cheapo too

Actually just searching molle sleep system on ebay kicks a bunch up, some cheaper than the ones on amazon.

Regarding luxury P-clamps:
You want to search for “aluminum line clamp 3/8” or “billet clamp 3/8”

3/8" being 9.5mm and close enough that it will work or you can drill out a bit as needed.

(Pics from Summit but these and more are all pretty much on eBay too)

Oh, and these guys will custom drill you the delrin insert to your specific size!

Edit: I went and grabbed the ones that can go over a tube. There are a few more options for slide-on mount, particularly from servocity.com which has all sorts of 3/8" tube clamps meant for making robots. I really didn’t bother searching 10mm but I’m sure there is more out there.
Xpost from the DQ thread for posterity…

Looking for front boxes again, this time I want one that doesn’t close with zipper. Came across this:

I like that logo, wish it also said “Empty Daily” like this one:

Bravo.

Don’t know how good this is or how long it will stay this cheap, but boxy rando/porteur bag for $30 can’t be all wrong?

Nice! Purchased. Smaller than my huge camera bag and I can also use it for beer?

Winning.

MOTHER FUCKER. i just bought that directly from poler for like $70 last week. thought i was getting it a deal on it, as it was already $40 off.

Nice find.
