Bike Products Which Exist, But Which One Wishes Did Not

Real talk: those both suck.

New Campy is the worst Campy.

Also eats cables a-la Shimano.

Sram akbar!

This fuckin “helmet”!

Fuck that “helmet”

The helmet looks like a high-friction disaster, great way to turn your brain pan into a fucking Vitamix if you hit the ground at a glancing angle.

Also that satchel is terrible and the jacket absolutely doesn’t work as a cycle commuting garment.

Also if you’re trying for some tweedy bland style - make the helmet straps gray or brown.

I noticed that they state it will comply with us and Canadian regulation. Sort of implying it doesn’t already.

lollin

i should start making cloth covers for bern helmets so they look like ball caps

Yakkay have been making these for at least a decade

I noticed that too. And given the friction aspect of it I would bet money it won’t meet regs until they make it slick.

Or make it so the fabric cover would just tear off.

The thing is, the friction is a known problem and famously Bell had to recall the first generation of bike helmets for exactly the same problem.

The first generation of bike helmets ever?

Hairnets

Sorry, I mean of Bell’s bike helmets.

So the lady that helmet is inspired by is one of sup’s best friends, and its named after the intersection that her accident happened at which is 2 blocks from my shop. It is a little silly but I’m stoked that something positive is coming from her experience.

Both of my parents and a few friends pre-ordered one so I can report back on how awesome they are in a few months.

Is a collapsible helmet shaped like a really dorky looking ball cap something positive though?
