anything can have its turn to be cool on a long enough timescale
some NOS cranks could look pretty damn cool on a 1x Crust build but the white gets gouged up and grody almost immediately and flakes off in big chunks
the brake levers can get “shabby chic” beausage though, and the indexed downtube shifters would look HOT on the right paintjob
just realized that like twenty years ago I had the Sante look-compatible pedals as daily drivers, which also got kinda grimy but in an aesthetic way
how did you do all that only to leave the hoods black

idk, it was a confusing time. I was never sure if it was an elaborate troll or something I actually enjoyed. I still have the crankset somewhere though.
well, white hoods often means something else
