Tarcklebee for poopbarning game
I could see this happening via the front wheel flinging some sheep shit onto your lips.
Yeah, and onto waterbottles. I had a camelbak as well, safer. I used to run a little mudguard over the lip of a bottom tube mounted bottle, and then a shower cap, but this year my bottles were within the frame, but it was seriously wet. Could have even come off some of the sealed sections from stock trucks. I am not sure if I could eat it via the front wheel given the stuff I had on the front, effectively acting as a mudguard. I am slowly putting the weight back on, but my HR is very high for me. 68 vs 45-55 so I am obviously still recovering. Its not a great bug. Related to the plague.
Yeah i saw the same! My usual RHR is mid-low 50s and while i was in hospital it was close to 100 much of the time. And pegged to the limit when they were trying to get the feeding tube down (unsuccessfully, four times)! I dropped 3kg (pretty much all muscle) in a week off my already low weight. Here’s to putting the kgs back on and getting back to normal!
Cripes. Did you have a dysentery related thing Blakey? I made 4 breads this week, so that should bulk up my belly at least. I couldn’t really tell if it was cos I rode 400 kms without eating or cos of the dysentery after. Lucky it only really hit me post ride. Silver lining is that I have really upped my bread game as I have learnt how to use my dutch oven properly. Hope you progress well. I am taking it really easy.
I wish it was dysentery! It was somewhat worse than that, but much better than it could have been.
Can’t eat bread unless I soak it in liquid, but I’m going through a ton of rice/congee.
Oh fukk. Sorry man. I missed that. That is shithouse.
Are you going to get on the protein powders?
My mum was on ensure recently after surgery and it gave her the shits at the quantities they recommended. I think she went onto some musashi crap the Allblacks pimp.
nek minit, cuzzies mum doin a haka at the bledisloe
Ha ha. She is a fan. Not me.
I was on Ensure H coffee flavour cans once i relearned how to swallow, then had a vanilla tetra pak of a similar product with my liquid lunches and dinners. Coffee ensure was better. No gastrointestinal issues with either, but they were nearly force feeding me the cans initially after a few days of zero food.
Wow. Was reading about them force feeding the inmates at guantanamo. Was basically torture. Youve been through hell Blakey. So glad you came away with no TBI.
Rob has just posted his Great Southern Brevet video. I have never done it and was a bit gutted to miss it again in January (summer) - until I started dot-watching. The weather was terrible. Completely different scenery to something like the Tour Te Waipounamu.
I have a pukebacking bike build question.
If you use a handlebar harness, how would you rather route your brake and shifting lines…
- Make your cables long and wrap them over the harness, so they have nice smooth but long routing - and cinch the harness to the head tube
or
- Use a t-bar like this to give about 50mm of ‘breathing room’ between the headtube and the harness, route short cables behind, and just accept that they’re gonna be a bit more kinked
?
Behind the bag in almost all cases, though it kinda depends on how much head tube you have and stem length. Like is your harness is sticking more straight out vs. hanging down?
IMO behind the bag/t-bar keeps things consistent and out of the way when I want to cram a rain shell under the front bag bungees, or remove the bag and carry it to a campsite, or whatever other futzing around is going to happen.
has anyone tried running the hose through hard bent tubes to direct them out of the way? should matter with hydros.
would be simple to get thin wall with the right id and a jig to turn them 90°. you could even try bending it with the hose inside.
I have the shortest T-bar, and the slack head angle brings the bar back far behind the axle, so it doesn’t stick out too far.
And I think you’re right about ease of setup and repacking, when messing around on my own it felt fussy to ‘thread’ the saltyroll under the cables, esp. with the front pouch on top of them.
I’m getting the fork the shop cut too short set up with a BMX stem and 75mm risers, so that should put the bag nice and low.
NGL I’ve timed breakdown and reassembly. It was like 45 min and an hour:15 respectively
