Yeah just eyeballed it. Would need a set in hand to get some actual dimensions from.

Resurrecting this thread after I confirmed Waxwing won’t be doing a 10mm RaClips ‘any time soon’… which I suppose is no surprise given they are merely reselling the Grand Bois product. I’d be keen to print one locally if a design could be had. Anyone know if this is possible?

there has been discussion on whether printing is wise. definitely probably fine for the bag side. maybe questionable for the rack slider part. i’m not sure i’d be too worried with abs and extra walls though now that i’ve started printing

I had it worked out how to print one piece and re-use the rest from the raclips but never got around to it. Two ways really, could remake the saddle piece entirely or just a spacer like I made by hand and then enbiggen the saddle with a round file or a tube wrapped in sand paper.

Here’s the parts description from Waxwing. Just so we all know what the other is talking about: the “retention bracket” and “slider” design needs modification to have an inner diameter of 10mm, correct? There’s two ways to go: 1) The amount of material that extends past the rack, and is around the bolts, stays the same meaning the clip will extend ~2mm further toward centre of bag than a RaClip. Or 2) the extra diameter is gained by reducing clip material either side of rack such that the bolts stay same distance away from the rail centre. In either way the backing bracket, bolt bracket and hardware can stay the same. My take is that option 1) is less prone to needing more trial & error testing than option 2).

Looks like Jan & the Rene Herse team are tinkering away on a more ‘rugged’ decaleur as per his race write-up. Am curious if it will mount to the stem again or somewhere else…

Jan carries zip ties because he knew his decaleur was going to break eventually? It’s funny he doesn’t mention that on the part of his site where he’s selling $180 decaleurs.

Has there been any development on the embiggening or new manufacturing of raclips for larger tubes?

@face has done it. I have been too lazy but it’s on my to do list. My rasp is very dull it’s going to take longer than it needs to.

I have the idea but not the time or resources to re-make one part of the raclips, reusing the rest, to make them work on any* size tubing. Who’s good with cad, has a 3d printer, and wants to take the torch?

*like 10mm max probably.

With shipping more like $40.

Feels like there’s some decaleur dithering opportunities here.

mount up with L-brackets?

Maybe? Or some rack mount hardware like this and some rods and/or struts.
