Did you just ShartQ?

I built mine 2x. I measured an ERD of 597 with regular old brass nipples fwiw.

Yeah 559 is 26ā€ right?

Yeah.
That’s what I got using the spokes/nipples/rubberband method that I always use. Measured the spokes from nipple to nipple and got 535mm, added 24mm for the two nipples and came out at 559. I’ll re-measure later today. Now that I think of it, I only measured one of the rims. I’ll rectify that.

I measure to the top of the screwdriver slot, if you go to the top of the nipple of have different nipples the number being 2mm bigger should be right.

That’s bead seat

I measured to the top of the nipple, so that makes sense.

Crashed my new bike and dented my left down tube shifter boss in. Small crack not sure if just paint or the steel too. Tarck what would you do?

I believe it’s Reynolds 853 tubing if that matters…

I am anxiously awaiting the diagnosis I see Jimmy typing

Oh buddy that sucks. I’d watch it like a hawk.

If you can swing it, get a replacement frame now, ride borked frame until you feel it’s time to let it go.

IMO manufacturer sympathy is likely highest right now, when you just got your shiny new bike built up. Also much better chance they have a frame in stock. I’d see if they would give you a discount on crash replacement frame or if they have a blem or something else.

Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to swing replacement frame anytime soon. This was supposed to be my ā€œforeverā€ bike after all.

I’ll contact crust, thanks

Matt’s a nice guy. You might be surprised.

Looks like just a crack in the paint, can investigate witb a sharp blade to be sure.

Please explain

scrape off paint. Is crack in metal? bad. Is metal ok? less bad.

I’d throw an M5x.8 screw in that boss and give it a tug and see if I could get the dent out. Otherwise:

steel is real after all

Yeah I don’t think I’d be bothered enough to stop riding it. I know it sucks to crash a new bike and see a fresh dent, but if you can still mount a dt shifter and use it then you’re good, atmo
