Did you just ShartQ?

the Sugino OX cranks seem like an obvious choice

if square taper is on the table, the VO Grand Cru, IRD Defiant, and the SunXCD crank all come in 165mm. There’s also the JanCranks…

Some weird euro options that I’ve never seen IRL like the Miche Graff or TA Carmina. The Middleburn cranks with the 94BCD double spider. White Industries.

How much did you order?

What’s the proper approach for cleaning dick break pads?
This past weekend’s gravel lapping compound ride has left these pads pretty caked.
Was going to scrub with ethanol then use sandpaper and fire.
Sandpaper idea seemed weird.

Are you having braking issues?

you can grind any 110mm 5-arm spider with to accept those chainrings, except for ritchey with the hidden bolt behind the crankarm

they just need tiny clearance steps for the outer chain plates in the 32t

3ft, I think. Doesn’t take much.

Oh darn, there are different widths too. @halbritt do you know the width that you got?

Is there an 11 speed cassette for a Microspline freehub body?

or any consistencies in 12 speed cassette spacing across brands or road/mtb?

Well, after cleaning the bike up, there was a lot of brake drag. I pulled the pads to push out the pistons, and the pads are just super grimy. They are not worn down, just caked.

Maybe I should just hold my nose and put them back in.

If it is braking fine, leave them alone. Maybe rinse with water to get the crud off or just brush the caked stuff off. If they’re fouled, just get new pads. It is so not worth the hassle.

A guy in Ogden, UT has the Chromag Wide Angle frame that I’d like at a decent price but wants $123 for shipping. DQ how much is shipping a frame from Ogden to Seattle really?

I just roughed in some numbers, Bikeflights suggested $75 nominal, but I bet there are some surprise addon fees before the thing actually gets onto a truck

yeah i spent $75 to get an XL kona dew from middle of the US to seattle. maybe he’s buying a box like a dumbdumb or letting a shop handle shipping.

Thinking I might get this for the downtube bottom:

and 8671hs for less impacted places.

It was $99 for me to ship from Portland, OR to Portland, ME for a large full squish frame.

Your seller might be paying a packing fee.

Is this that same frame?

https://classifieds.ksl.com/listing/71521016

If so, that seller’s other ads show they’re running a mobile shop, so maybe he’s charging his shop rate to pack/ship?

I don’t like that he doesn’t list the spec

That is the frame, it is listed on eBay for $100 more but he offfered it at $400 plus shipping.

a frame without a fork should be $50 max for shipping. possibly even cheaper given the short distance between UT and WA.

Shipping anything is getting crazy expensive and seems to fluctuate every week.

Though the seller is probably adding money for packing and handling fees
