can vouch for revant for replacement lenses although not Rx
I donāt have any frames I love that I would want to spend dollars on to get new lenses, but Iāll keep them in mind if I find something I like
RX sunglasses with any shape to them make weird things happen to my vision aside from when I am looking straight ahead through the middle of the lens. I gave up and just use contacts when I do sunglasses things.
Have persistent click from BB area best I can tell and I canāt figure it out.
FSA Energy 30mm spindle crank
Token BSA->BB386 BB because it was dirt cheap
Click started when out of the saddle but generally occurs at any effort >300 watts or so in or out of saddle. Independent of DS/NDS power stroke. At its worst the click was independent of crank position and power level. If the cranks were turning it was clicking - not always at regular intervals coincident with cadence. Could also get it to click sometimes if cranks were level and I stood up and pumped the bike.
Frame was chased & faced when I initially built it up. If I remove the crank and pack everything with grease the click gets less predominant but eventually gets louder.
Chainring bolts are tight. Last week I pulled the bearings out of the cups, cleaned and reinstalled with bearing retainer and let cure for ~48 hours. Also greased and teflon taped the BB threads. No significant change aside from the click being a bit quieter.
Seatpost is a very recent installation with grease. Headset recently cleaned and regreased. Iāve removed wheels and cleaned dropouts.
I donāt think itās the crank itself - to me a crank based issue would present as more of a creaking rather than a click. Spindle is in good shape. One thing I havenāt tried is removing the spider lockring and cleaning/retorquing. Not sure if my shop will have the right tool since it has to fit over the spindle, I think our Cannondale spider lockring tools just have a 3/8" square in the middle.
Should I just spend more money on a different BB or will I always be screwed trying to use a 30mm spindle crank in a BSA shell? Thereās not a lot of material in this BB.
Itās your bb
Itās probably you saddle rails or brake levers or something.
Or stem bolts.
how old are you? maybe itās your knee or ankle
QR or TA?
Yeah, last time I had something like this it was lame-o DT Swiss QR skewers. Swapping them out for Shimano fixed it.
Contact psoriatic arthritis of the bicycle? My joints have felt fine lately but it does like to move around.
Open cam QR that Iāve wanted to replace for a while.
The other day I was chasing a strange creak/click on my Bullitt. Turns out it was another goddamn jingle bell! This is the second time this exact thing has happened to me. Could it be something totally random?
One time Ash complained of a click once per pedal rotation. I drove myself nuts looking for it. Couldnāt find it.
Then one day we were riding together and I noticed that the little zipper pull on their boot was hitting the bottle cage once per rotation. Durrrrrr
are you haunted by jingle bell gnomes or something?
Iāve fixed enough ācreaking bottom bracketsā by regreasing a seatpost that Iām open to most any possibility. Wanted to type out everything Iāve done just to see if I was missing anything really obvious.
I initially thought I might have cracked another rim but I think Iām safe there!
Could be a worn spindle. Iāve seen a few 30mm spindle cranks develop wear. Packing with grease essentially shuts it up at first, but then the grease displaces and the noise comes back.
But also make sure your cups are tight. Iāve seen plenty of mystery BB noises caused by a slightly under-torqued bb cup.
on our stationary bikes, people complain about this same thing constantly. its usually their shoelace hitting the crank. also a lot of gyms use combo pedals that are an spd on one side and a toe clip on the other and itās the toe strap buckle.
i know the shoe lace thing all too well because iām an idiot who bought lace up SPD shoes and i rarely remember to tuck them into the little elastic strap.
Back in ye old front shifting days, the cable tip of the front pusher would always get me, usually only in one ring or the other. Sometimes dinking on the downtube, sometimes the crank arm.
i recently greased the bolt/ā¦cap washer? interface on my security skewers to fix a creak. i also did chainring bolts and bb at the same time but i know for sure it was the qr. what size qr do you need? if i have a shimano iāll send it over
