people like to point them back cuz it looks more “aero”’or something, but pointing them straight forward is the pro move
Have you checked the stem/bar clamp? Have you tried reproducing the sound by torquing on the bars in the same way as when you’re out of the saddle without actually riding the bike?
Looks like an Alan headbadge.
My most annoying ones have been, a zipper hitting my top tube, and a seat post clamp. I think I run the clamp reversed now. And a shitty Bontrager seatpost.
There’s definitely wear on the spindle but I’ve never had a good idea of what is too much. Running a fingernail along the spindle I can’t find any ridges or anything but I can imagine it doesn’t take much.
Certainly couldn’t hurt to try cleaning things up or replacing the QRs for nicer internal cam ones. Thanks for the offer, I’ll dig around the shop and see if we’ve got one as well but I may take you up on that if I can’t find anything.
All good in the front end, I did just re-do everything working on my issue with the expander plug upthread.
Thanks, all.
But it’s a steel frame, has a Reynolds 753 sticker
The cable guides on the TT would be telling
Fastback stays are interesting but the lugs are clunky so I don’t know if it’s 450$ interesting
Ad says its 653
Maybe it planes more?
653 wasn’t hardened the way 753 was
I cannot get this brake to bleed for the life of me. Shimano MTB. Replaced leaky caliper. Tried pushing more fluid in from caliper and also more fluid from cup on top of brake lever. Tried flicking the housing and pumping the brake lever but still getting a mushy lever that won’t lock up.
If it’s got a hinged bar clamp for the lever, you could take the whole plumbed brake off of the bike and bleed it with the hose as vertical as possible to encourage bubbles to rise to the lever.
Also, make sure both pistons are moving. If one is stuck it makes the bleed way harder.
Keep the bike vertical with a rubber band holding the brake lever down overnight. this should being all bubbles to the lever.
I replaced the caliper since I think the old one was leaking. So hopefully the brand new one doesn’t have any issues.
Well this I can certainly do. Thanks for tip.
I think some of the older tech docs actually have this as a step.
It’s from a “Colin Laing”
Going to pickup now, will post pics.
@Toastface_Grillah had a CL back in the day

Was having a beer with a friend yesterday and the bartender used to work at Kooka.
