A good friend of a friend makes these: https://www.gooddaycuriosity.com/bike-bags
Good option if you want a fun custom design.
2nd for rockgeist. They did a made-to-measure frame bag for me thatās amazing.
Anyone have velocio bibs? I canāt tell if theyāre just a hip newcomer or are actually good but unknown like 7mesh was to me until last year.
I actually wanted some 7mesh bibs, but I hate the way the front is cut straight across, low on the stomach. I feel like its cut perfect to make my gut hang over the top of the bibs.
Velocio is quality stuff and has been around a bit nowājust unknown to you
Velocio is my favorite kit brand, great stuff, though I mostly have jerseys and jackets. Fit is generally a little more American, I wear smalls vs medium in most of the Euro brands.
Rad.
Is rapha lumped in with the euro brand fit? Because Iām right on the line of med and large for velocio and I wear a large in rapha.
I would probably go same size as Rapha, unless you mean Rapha Pro Team stuff in which case I might go a size down.
Velocio return/exchange policy is chill though, so if youāre buying from them youāll be able to dial it in.
are there any options for a stronglight crank puller?
anyone got one theyād loan to me? would pay for round trip shipping.
this is a rare crankset tho.
The old CCP-1 has 23 mm threads on the flip side of the hex nut. Iām 50/50 if itās Stronglight or TA.
I might be able to loan you mine. I only have one bike that needs it, and Iām not pulling the cranks any time soon. It would be a gamble without verifying the thread pitch.
Use a rubber mallet; thatās what I do when Iām foolish enough to use one of my french cranksets
Iāve got a JA Stein with the 23.35 threading. Worked perfectly for my 93 Pista. Would be happy to loan it out for a bit.
did you retap the pedal threads or just chase em out with a normal 9/16ā pedal?
Mine is factory 9/16". Iād definitely retap if I had to do it, but weāve got pedal taps at the shop I work at part time.
Gurp Stitchworks makes a lovely bag
Anyone ever put 650b wheels on a 559 bike with a rear u-brake?
Yes. But then I turned around and replaced the u-brake with disc tabs (there was barely enough adjustability for the u brake to work, and it didnāt seem worth it to torch off and reposition the u mounts)
Iāll be curious to see where the posts are located and what overall paint condition is like once I get the frame. Glad to hear it might be an option. Thereās good enough tires in 559 that it might not be worth the dithering, though.
A lot of the restomods Iāve seen just use 26x2.3 DTHs.
