Did you just ShartQ?

Any opinions on the Lezyne micro floor drive pumps? I’d like to setup a small set of tools in the office and it would be nice to not have a full size floor pump taking up a bunch of space. Are there any other pumps like that I should look at that support both presta and schrader valves?

Best I can tell is that the Birdy axle is 7mm wider, and pairs with a special bottom bracket that has a DS cup that is also spaced out. Evidently this is because the folding bikes have gigantic seat tubes which pushes the front derailleur out too far. So to run a double you have to also push the chain line out.

Since it’s 7mm wider I assume you could run it on a 73mm BB with a 1mm spacer on each side…

I thought people didn’t like how they sometimes unscrew valve cores? I have no firsthand experience.

That said, the Topeak Road Morph and Mountain Morph have always been A+ GOAT pumps.

And I see there is a new one the Mega Morph, which is closer to a full size floor pump bot folds to be slim for storage.

the valve core unscrewing thing is a topic you can get me going on. I actually had a fleche teammate do that in the rain a few weeks ago. basically I have only ever heard complaints about that unscrewing thing and have never once wished for it, but Lezyne fans still insist they make wonderful pumps.

Road/ Mountain Morph were awesome goated pumps though. Filzer the former MEC house brand made some Morph knock offs that were a little heavier and more robust which I also loved.

I can’t get down with the screw-on system at all. Makes no sense to me, have seen so many valve cores unscrewed as a result of this stupid system. Every other pump maker has long since figured out how to do a push-on system that works just fine. Shame, because all the other Lezyne products I’ve used have been excellent (multi-tools, bacon insertion device, stick-on patches, etc).

I really didn’t want to mess with screw-on heads at all either. The Mega Morph or Turbo Morph G look like good options and I totally missed them, even though the only pump that has ever failed me was a Topeak (Master Blaster DX).

Not a floor pump but my screw-on Lezyne mini pump has ruined 3 valves.

I did that once at the start of a big gravel race. Went to top up air like two minutes before the stars, destroyed the valve core and had to throw a tube in. Somehow I made the start but then I dnf’d because it was 110* out and I thought I might actually die.

Piling on - avoid the screw head, I wish I had

You might think this is a bad thing, but with Fillmore’s lifetime warranty, each ruined valve means they send you two more in the mail. So using a Lezyne pump with Fillmore valves is kind of an infinite valve hack. I think I have six floating around from the original pair I bought.

You could do the micro floor drive with a different chuck?

I have one of these on a 20 year old Nashbar pump

The smart move would probably be buying that chuck for an old Silca pump and being okay with a big pump at work and saving 0.25 katu along the way.

I really wish the turbo morph g had the extendable hose of the road morph g. The gauge is just soooo much nicer.

my road morph g is going on 13 years and it’s absolutely goated. could def use some replacement parts but ehhhhh

One for each bike nestled right next to the down tube bottle mount.

i’ve had the valve unscrewy lezyne road drive floor pump for like 10 years now. somehow it’s still better than the other TWO pumps i’ve tried to buy to replace it.
i got sick of it again last weekend and in a fit of rage threw it across my driveway so i think it’s dead now

Bottom bracketish creak, two ticks per pedal revolution. 6700 crank/ hollowtech.
It only happens with tension on the chain. In other words, with the chain totally unweighted, and bouncing full body weight on both cranks, it’s silent. That makes me think it’s not the pinch bolts but i greased them anyway. I tried the chainring bolts (it’s bikingreen 46-30) and it seems to have done nothing.

Has anyone got any ideas?

I suspect I shared this anecdote already, but when doing my latest poopbarn event, the dude I was riding with started to air up his tire one morning, it had a slow leak (tubeless) . I made the comment that I wouldnt go outside with a pump like that (Lezyne), at which point he actually snapped his valve stem off. It was stuck in the end of his hose. He eventually sorted it by replacing it with a tube. But of course the tubeless was leaking for a reason and he must have got another 8 punctures over the next 2 days. A small thorn was the culprit. I just use a cheapie hammer lock pump. Probably should treat myself to a nice one.
