ITT rusty needs to start replacing every single bolt and fastener with the 316 stainless or Ti equivalent.
Seriously. This bike hardly saw any winter weather last year. Like maybe two or three slushy day.
āRidden wet, put away hardā
anyone know what vendor might have a seat collar like this? big fixed flippy lever instead of a traditional QR. size extra jumbo- 39.89
@igor i bet you have spent quite some time browsing vendor catalogs
Best sealant for inner tubes?
Currently running schrader valvesāare they more prone to clogging compared to presta?
I had the best luck with the OG finish line tubeless sealant (@karl_dandleton will confirm)
Have been using the muc off tube sealant in the shop and it seems to do the trick too
Thanks. Iāll grab whatever is cheapest.
Iāve been using the non-latex OG Finish Line sealant as well. Itās harder to find these days in the smaller bottles. Amazon had the gallon lifetime supply size last I checked. Orange Seal endurance worked pretty well in tubes for me. It seems to last a little longer in a tube compared to a tubeless setup.
For what its worth, I just recently got my first flat on a finish line sealant tubed rene herse tire after almost 4 years of daily use on shitty streets.
I just havenāt had enough time with any other product to see if it will stand up to that
i have no idea unfortunately.
i do wonder how different the ābikesā formula is from the other multiseal products. other jawns are maybe more gloopy?
I am glad Iām not the only one who forget how these work. A couple weeks ago, I used a caliper like this to replace one that had a real bleed screw with nipple. For about 2 minutes I was like āGODDAMN SHIMANO do I have the wrong fucking bleed kit??? Well I guess I can take this screw off the borked caliper and see if it fitsā¦ā before I looked under the little rubber cover again lolā¦
And then I looked over at the Big Dummy that I put hydro brakes on like 3 years, and I would have had to bleed a caliper just like this install the rear brake.
and we have an answer. multiseal says quick strike offroad is most similar
Oh and they list this for bike tires <3.5" wide. Maybe when my gallon of Finish Line is empty.
@igor how are those chains you are slinging on your e-commerce platform?
Iāve had them on a couple bikes for a while now and they seem fine. The KMC ones are good, too.
At what point do I need to worry about a dented rim?
I was playing around with tire pressure on my cross bike and got some solid hits from a couple of roots when I went too low. The dents in the rim are just barely visible and I can feel them, but the tire is holding air just fine (tubeless).
I would run it if the bead still holds. My mountain rims have some small dents, but they still hold air.
Run it til it creases, cracks, or doesnāt seat anymore
