Did you just ShartQ?

Doesn’t the wireless sram one go down on its own?

That’s the sensible answer. I prefer the look and feel of a single finger lever

How do Rob Englishs frames do IRL? Are they magically not breaking?

ask fergs. he owns a couple of them

One of Ferg’s didn’t magically not break at the disc post mount, but it did magically not break everywhere else you might guess it would.

I’m nowhere near rich enough to afford an English, but my most-ridden machines have pencil stays and they’re as sturdy as the more rotund stays on my earlier frames.

Pederson frames are all pencil stays all the time and they seem fairly durable?

(Edit: I have got to build a frame with paired pencil chainstays!)

Can anyone ID the font on the vintage Cannondale logo?

It looks like a distorted Arial Bold.
All the letterforms check out.

I got it 95% there with a little playing around in Affinity for a bit:

Thank you!

I love that og logo.

I like how it uses a famously uncool font to great effect.

Aptos is where we’re at now

Are there any 10s chains that come in 118-120 linkways? Could I run an 11s chain on an otherwise 10s setup?

Ebike chains are longer, but usually much longer than you’re looking for and seem disproportionately more expensive than the extra length you get. Shimano has some big ass 10 spd cassettes and I don’t know why they haven’t come out with longer chains like they’ve done with the 11 spd stuff.

Universal does have a 10 spd STEPS chain for a decent price right now.

That looks promising.

PC1051 comes in a 144 variety. I used to run the 116 link Shimano chains on my MTB.

My 38 x 11-48 combo needs 118 links.

I’m running 11s chains on both 10s and 9s drivetrains with zero issues.

10s cogs are the same width and spacing as 11s, so I don’t think there’s a dimensional difference to the chains. At most, the 11s chain might be able to flex a little more laterally.

what does tarck think of blinky front lights for daytime use? I know some folks are anti-blinky in general, but I could never determine if it was due purely to personal preference or if there’s some sort of rare medical condition where they cause an actual problem.

I used to run a small front light on strobe just as a daytime visibility thing. I had a driver pull out in front of me yesterday because they “didn’t see me” so I’m considering putting it back on. Not that it will fix people’s shitty excuses for poor driving, but you know, what else can I do.
