Flashing lights can induce both seizures and migraines.
Neither of which is particularly rare.

I will say that the most visible I ever felt was when I attached one of these to the back of me
People in car hell long islannd gave me a wiiiiiide berth
blinking or strobe for daytime is way more visible than a static light, especially now that LED DRLs are so common. at night they become harder to judge speed and position vs static and can disorient other road users
Just donāt hang out on coastlines or islands at night with your bike or you may get a grumpy visit from the USCG.
Seizure info Iāve found online seems to say that the image has to occupy a large part of the personās vision, and flash at a higher frequency (10-20 Hz). Thatās a lot different than a blinky light, which is why I asked.
PDW danger zone has a slow pulse which I like to use because itās not flashing but it is changing so can catch the eye for similar reasons. also has a flashing mode and solid, runs on AAAs.
Conspicuity is a giant complicated topic. There are answers to your questions but they arenāt that easy or simple.
I think itās ok doing something that helps you feel safer. Additionally, ambulances and fire trucks rely on a lot of solid conspicuity research and definitely use flashing lights.
My buddy who works for the fire dept somehow got a tail light off a fire engine and wired it up as his daily commuter light. You really could see him for kms.
Picking up a MTB that comes with Hope Tech 4 X2 brakes and, because Iām a psychopath, I prefer to run my brakes moto-style. Is this an easy swap I could do that wouldnāt require a bleed?
I canāt help you but Iām also a moto brake kinda guy so shoutout there.
Same! Makes so much sense as an ex motorcyclist, but its also the norm here.
Simple solution is just to swap lever positions and flip them over
I suppose thatād work too. Any functional issues with doing this or just the aesthetics?
Actually since these are external reservoir levers you canāt do it without risking air bubbles getting in. But internal designs should be ok
I dont know about hope, but so long as you dont lose a bunch of fluid, i think itās unlikely enough air will get in by just simply swapping the hoses. Usually only the smallest amount of fluid comes out when undoing the hoses.

I built this up for kids. Swapped out rim brakes for discs, put Kona P2 26ā fork on instead of suspension fork.
Dither away but how likely is it that your kids notice the angles being a little steep?
They just know whether it rides good or it feels off. Up to me to know why.
That looks like a non suspension corrected fork. Might need a suspension corrected one. Or the 29er.
