bowl resin feels like the most OG shopbro move anyway
spoke prep is good. for a while i would drip some purple loctite in between getting the nipples all down to where the wrench flats got to the end of the threads. you kinda need to finish building it that day and it can be a pain if you live somewhere very salty, but that did well by me
I use rock n roll nipple cream and it seems to work great.
Iâll never forget bowl resin nipple prep, thank you.
I think Iâve used the appropriate loctite most.
been using boiled linseed oil for years. and it smells nice
I have my little bucket of drivetrain grease sitting by whenever I build a wheelset.
Purple loctite in the nip ends helps if a wheel is cursed and nds spokes are coming loose. Anything more is IME just a version of too much. I did try blue loctite on the whole threads once for experimental purposes. Itâs comically too much, that nipple is probably still glued on the spoke somewhere.
that said, I also got some boiled linseed oil like Igor and itâs nice too.
Iâve been on the Stanâs spoke powder and Sapim secure lock nipples for at least the last 5 years now.
This is what I like for myself & customer wheels. I used linseed oil in the past and i like the spoke powder better. It feels less gummy.
huh- didnât know about that. seems like spoke prep but you donât have to be as methodical and wait for it to dry?
My brain inserted that, the Dracula flow is seeping out
Someone here does refer to it as the âspoke cokeâ.
Need a replacement fork for a Specialized AWOL - I think itâs 405 mm AC and 50 mm offset. How exact should I look to match? From what I can tell a Kona Rove or Soma Wolverine would make a good replacement.
stolen revel saga is coming to an uneventful whisper fart of a finale.
paypal says i can have my money back if i send the bike back to original ebay seller. i tell original owner this and inquired about him really wanting it back in its slightly damaged state and if he received any sort of insurance payout for it. he says he did get a payout, doesnt want the bike back and would prefer i not send the bike back to the original owner. i tend to agree, i dont like the idea of the ebay seller having this bike back and i feel like i minimized his profit in this process. plus i would have to pay return shipping which would further my butthurt.
so in the end, i should have probably thought about every step of this saga longer than nine seconds before proceeding. dealing with this along with building this stupid fucking bike for pit viper has made my time recently feel absolutely worthless. live and learn i suppose but jesus christ me get your life together.
so yeah, keeping stolen ti bike, stolen ti bike is now my ti bike, if you are looking for a screamin deal on a previously stolen ti bike with sram transmission and no front end holler at your boy.
Whatâs up with these Nightrider lights? I canât get them to turn on after sitting for a while.
I keep seeing a thing about getting them out of a mode by holding the power on switch but is that the red indicator on the battery or the red button on the remote or the red button on the light?
edit: supernova said its fine and donât hook both (+) wires up because youâll get the brake light blinding brightness but youâll burn out the LEDs.
Anyone have experience with Supernova lights?
I see this older taillight on ebay. It has an extra power wire that is supposed to be hooked up to a brake sensor that you attach to your brakes. Iâm not messing with that. Iâm wondering if this light can be run without that feature.
Itâs alive! Looks like one battery is bad
This one actually has red/blue strobes so I can pull people over!
Update to spoke prep; I used some Philâs Tenacious Oil. Seems to have worked just fine.
I couldnât find the broken bikes thread but I guess this is more pre-broken. Cleaned my Trance today and found this at the TT/ST weld:

The scraped away parts I just picked at with my fingernail. This bike lives in a basement that has a bit higher than ambient humidity but itâs never wet. Wondering if this is in any way my fault or if I should try and get the frame warrantied.
I carry this bike on its wheels on a hitch rack. Iâve never had a bag or anything that touches this area.
