any work, you just put a hose over the nipple on the caliper. for road stuff you might need an adapter to connect the funnel to the lever though.
I have a vintage BD ground glass syringe I use
X0 double 10s front derder made for this combo?
I didn’t realize this was stock gearing BITD. Reminded me also that I had a Sram X5 FD that shifted great with 9s FD pull. Some decent option on eBay, thanks for the suggestion.
I just happened to be looking up cranks with this combo recently, because I have this X0 derailleur that’s 32t max that I absolutely fell in love with. Beautifully built piece, like nice enough to swap cranks to use. Anyway eBay showed me a million front derailleurs designed for 42/26.
Got it
My buddy runs grx 11 speed shifters on a 2x side swing FD. I think the XTR crank is 26/36 or somesuch.
Pretty sure the FD is XTR too.
I installed these Middleburn cranks and it seems like there’s still too much spindle. The adjusting ring’s range is just barely sufficient at least a couple threads engaged. I ordered some 2.5mm spacers to put behind the biscuit cups. Think it’ll explode if I commute on it tomorrow? I don’t have it in me to put the shimanos back on.
Measure the width of the spindle
Bullitt is a 68mm ahell and that spindle was made for 73mm
yes the spacers go behind the biscut cups
Don’t cassette spacers fit over the BB cup threads if you file the bumps off? I think I’ve done that before.
I wouldn’t ride it like that.
Yes
Also yes
It might not explode, but I can see those few threads tearing out and the cups messily disassembling as the spindle starts banging around inside the BB.
Bulletts are aluminum, yes? If you don’t want to buy a new frame or do without a cargo bike while you send the ruined frame to a framebuilder who works in aluminum, don’t ride that bicycle like that.
Ok ok I’ll ride a different bike!
How hard is it to change the travel on a 2021-ish year Lyrik? I found a 150mm with red lowers for sale at a good price, and it’s 150mm, and I want 140mm.
Pretty easy.
Need to find the correct air spring. I would guess it is 11.4018.111.028 given the year it is likely charger 2.1 damper.
Then probably worth replacing the seals and lower oil. SKS seals: 00.4318.045.004. Looks like oil level is 10ml each side: https://thelostco.com/pages/mtb-fork-oil-volumessrsltid=AfmBOoqluFEZ9Kf9Zk7uKUS4t01XXIWYnZsuCChnPs8eBZ_JxU_Jyd0L.

Some slick honey/sram butter/slickoleum, iso alcohol, and maybe a dowel rod to push paper towel or rage down the lower tube and back to clean it up.
Alternately, just run it at 150
