Anyone ever used a freight forwarding service from the UK to USA?
SJS Cycles has a bunch of parts I want that aren’t available here, but doesn’t ship to the US currently. They’ll work with a forwarding company but didn’t have anyone to recommend and researching online the reviews and cost are all over the place.
I did indeed used to work for a big freight forwarder, Expeditors. I unfortunately have no clue how it all actually worked, as I just calculated carbon footprints and tried to convince our facility managers to turn off the lights at night.
Oh yeah that’s right I was using it as a generic term, should have said parcel or personal package forwarding. Did some more searching and looks like the overall cost will be about the same if I was able to buy the stuff here in the US so I guess that’s a win. Real Rube Goldberg vibes though.
I have bitten at a similarly too good to be true dyno on alix (I think it was AUD36). It never shipped and I got my money back FWIW. Not sure what the scam angle was..
