Does anyone sell compressionless housing which comes in colors? It seems like Jagwire would, but everything is just suffixed with a few letters so I can’t figure out which is which.
Yokozuna comes in the standards. Red black gold white silver and maybe another.
Yokozuna only does Black, White and “Smoke”, according to their website. I just want regular Jagwire compressionless housing in fun colors. Why that so hard?

Shift housing is compressionless. It’s what makes it shift housing.
So they have Jagwire Sport shifter housing in fun colors but no Jagwire Pro shifter housing in fun colors.
If all shifter housing is compressionless then what is the difference between these two?

All modern shifter housing is compressionless, which is why it has linear wires run end-to-end. This style of housing is more or less required for any bike using indexed shifting. Prior to indexing, there often wasn’t “brake housing” and “shift housing,” just the regular coil wound kind of housing that we now typically see with road and hybrid rim brakes (the sort of brake housing you’ve seen a million times before).
Using shifting housing with brakes was one way to stiffen up the action of mechanical discs, or on bikes with very long runs of housing, but it doesn’t have a lot of strength radially and can explode if squeezed too hard. Compressionless brake housing fixes this by being essentially modern shift housing (that is, linear wires run from front to back) with an extra mm of Kevlar wrapped around it to prevent the housing from bursting apart.

I haven’t looked at the Jagwire Pro shift but it probably is some low-friction treatment for snappier shifting

Yokozuna is wrapped with a metal coil as well as having the straight wire compressionless stuff. That’s why it’s bonkers strong (and expensive)

So if compressionless brake housing is so amazing why haven’t we ditched traditional shift housing and unified all housing to one standard again?

Maybe shift housing can be made lighter since it doesn’t have to handle.the rigors of braking?
We did ditch traditional shift housing; that’s why modern shift housing exists. One presumably could use Kevlar lined compressionless brake housing for shift, but then you’re adding a lot of unneeded weight and expense.
Coil wound brake housing is often preferable for rim brakes. It’s actually the same reason why Shimano introduced BH90 housing for road bike applications - in this case, some flexibility is desirable.
