Yeah I had Yokozuna in a canti bike and it felt crappy. Regular Shimano stuff feels much better.

I think Yokozuna is the reason I can live with non wet dickbrakes. It’s gotta be the fancy reaction level.

Usually it has to do with the liner inside the housing being slicker. If you buy cables and housing together the nicer sets will have coated cables too. Go fondle some cheap cables that come on basic level bikes and feel a regular jagwire bulk cable. The difference in the smoothness of the cable is shockingly different

I did that. Is working great. Not much to know - just get in there and do it. Little bit of fiddling to get the wrap around right, but you’ll get it.

Best advice is: don’t use a Shimano coated brake cable under any condition. The Tanpan “shaves” the cable until it clogs up the transition hole between the two pulley diameters. Extremely annoying to deal with.

I guess one of my stem swaps gouged my steerer. Whoops. I have no recollection of it happening. Should I bin it? It’s centerish of the stem currently.

I cannot imagine that failing if it’s under the stem clamp. There’s no appreciable load there. If it was under a spacer I might be worried.

and the grip area is a little too narrow and a little too far behind the clamp for my taste
the rise is also probably not necessary
what 25.4 swoopy bars are wider and further forward and maybe a little less swoopy?

Does anyone with a large head/face wear wrap around prescription sunglasses for mountain biking? I haven’t found anything I can try on with full protection, prescription lens holders, and large enough for my large head/face.

At this point I don’t even care about style as long as they have swappable lenses and will stay on my face.

How do I get rid of stinky bottle smell? I realized I left a couple bottles all closed up with a half inch of water in them and now they smell funky. I’ve tried washing them with dish soap but it the smell lingers. Are they dead?

Hot water and baking soda gets the stink out. I’ll also throw in a spoon full of uncooked rice to agitate, cap it, and shake the whole thing a bunch before letting it soak.
