Did you just ShartQ?

Whatever cheapass bars are free or in your parts bin?

Need more info, need to match a ti chairpole?

Hmmmmm

Was that patois?

Yes is true, but poopbarning?

I’m considering going back to 10sp. What’s that go to setup that doesn’t suck a massive fuck again?

I was running
Shakes: ST-5700
Pieplate: 11-42t 10sp
Dangler: RD-M6000
Adaptor: wolftooth tanpan
Turdly shifting overall

Keep in mind I prefer a clutch dangler (maybe that’s my problem)

That’s probably the 10-speed cable-under-the-bar-tape shakes you can blame for the turdly shiftnig. 2.3mm of cable pull per shift is not a lot. It worked okay for road bikes, but once you start getting everything gritty and grungy while poopbarning… nope.jpg

There’s a reason 10-speed MTB was put on a different cable pull.

Folx like to run that RX800 dangler you have with 11-40 cassettes (or 11-42 with a wolftooth thinggummy), but only with 1x. As you’ve discovered, it doesn’t have the capacity to run a big pie plate + 2x up front.

Unless you wanna run a tanpan + MTB dangler, I think you should just make peace with the fact that the you shouldn’t crosschain 28/11 and live with it.

You could try the M6000 cage swap for shiggles - eyeballing the parts pdfs on si.shimano.com, it looks like a plausible swap. I say this as a person who is currently riding a 6400 Ultegra aero short cage on a Deore LX M560 derailleur body.

All this talk of 2000s alu race bikes reminded me of GVHBikes. It was a webstore run by a guy on the Oregon coast who imported all sorts of weird Euro frames… aluminum Cinellis, Viners, Looks, Mosers, etc.

Apparently someone’s still running it and they still have the weird mis-mash of frame inventory:

Them, red rose, Gita… I spent a fair bit of the start of the 2000’s poring over all those grainy, minimally legible websites.

Red Rose was rad. Carrera were legit rad. Had customer years ago that had a custom steel and custom titanium one. Both were incredible.

M6000 GS has a chain capacity of 41 so you still won’t take up all the chain. for a difference of 2 teeth it’s not worth the cage swap unless you really like dithering.

M6000 SGS btw

Most of those brands were out of Billato, right? I had an alu Cramerotti from them, full custom at a minimal upcharge

SGS is 43 so you’re still under spec…

To space out flatmount discs will any washer work? I have 160 rotors and adapters, but the pads still aren’t clamping where they should be.

I think so.

Are you sure? Unless the rotor is kissing the top of the caliper it’s probably fine.

I’ve definitely seen some weird rotor shapes that at first appear to be wrong somehow but when I look inside the caliper the pad surface is all being contacted under braking.

Is it me or are Richey road logic frames expensive?

They are expensive.

I believe that they are among the only steel frame makers not using bog-standard OS tubing, hence the price

Fair point. It’d be a contender in the 600-800$ cost…
