can an m675 SLX double crank be configured for boost 1x? q factor hasn’t changed, so would the outer chainring position be too far off? does 1x12 eagle require a specific chainring or does an 11s chainring work? mtb moves so fast and i’m not in retail bikes anymore.

The magic search term for this is “Linear” housing, which is what it’s called for BMX. The different market means it’s a small fraction of the cost, comes in a hundred odd/rare colors, is super flexible, and usually comes in fixed lengths with a double-ended cable already in it…
Odyssey’s version is far and away the best, they make custom machined ferrules to match with an internal spreader nub, and the housing comes with them perfectly molded into both ends. They make a really weird “Race” version with all-aluminum strands that I use regularly.

super odd- i was browsing on mobile and could have sworn the article basically said outer position with 1x ring is 52 and boost should be 51-53, but also that you can’t use a regular crank with boost unless spiderless.

you’ll probably want to hang it up to relax for a bit before use, they’ve been coiled up for long time and the clear outer sheath wants to bubble at first
