Did you just ShartQ?

you know when I wrote that I knew that someone would do this

I just didn’t know who.

Has anyone used the cleats that come with the Wellgo Time Atac clone pedals with Time Atac pedals?

My time cleats didn’t work with the Wellgo pedals, so the pedals have been sitting in the parts bin. Now I need cleats and am wondering if they do work the other way.

The fix is to get SPDs

I was gifted a pair of Time pedals 15 years ago and wound up locked in permanently. Good luck getting me to switch now.

Wellgo or MKS?

Oh shit good question. Got mixed up. I’m talking about the MKS.

I seem to remember that the MKS cleats did work with Times, just not the other way around. Otherwise I might have some Time cleats, as I’m moving back to XTs (and I also have Time ATACs up for grabs).

someone here made the point that they maybe operate exactly opposite to the time atacs. switch the pedal bodies on the spindles and they are alleged to work like normal. i passed my pairs down the tarck pipeline before having a chance to try it tho

One time a random guy came in the bike shop and handed a bag to myself and a female coworker. It contained a box of tea bags. They were for lactation cessation. Neither of us had any children and we were very uncomfortable.

That makes sense why the MKS cleats worked on my ATACs but not the other way around - I mounted the MKS cleats correctly so they worked on the Times, but my ATAC cleats wouldn’t click easily into the backwards MKSs.

I just measured the ATAC and MKS pedals, and the width of the cleat between the bars is 20.72mm on both, thickness of the cleats is within 0.01mm, width of rear catch is within 0.01mm.

Just put the MKS cleats on. They work, but just feels generally a lot tighter. Not as much float, and it takes a lot more to clip out.

I’m gonna ride with them, but I’m a little worried that I’ll fail to clip out in a panic stop. Wish me luck.

tarck

i have a chainring bolt stuck together, theyre just spinning freely in on the chainring/arm assembly, one of those with the slotted back, so i cant find a way to grab onto the back part and hold it still while loosening the front

wat do i do

You don’t have the slotted back tool? You might be able to stop it spinning enough to start it unthreading with a large flat screw driver or a narrow screw driver on its side. You really needed one of those tools if you have old style cranks.

ShartQQ: Do you have the left cleat on the left shoe?

Yup
I know the time cleats let you adjust float by switching sides. I’ll try swapping and report back.
