Just get some cheap syringes from CVS.
I have a bunch of these in the shop I just goop grease into as needed.

Right now I’m searching for a nylon or aluminum plug or adapter that I can make work.
I just want these old tubes to thread into a grease gun. Looking at pictures of old Phil tubes on grease guns it looks like they all have adapters on them. This is the way.
I’m only guessing since I have no inch thread gauges. Tube is 3/8-20, gun is 9/16-18
i’m assuming you have JB Weld or some other kind of epoxy putty.
Cover tube threads with plastic wrap or teflon tape. Take the putty and form it onto the tube threads. cover with a sheet of plastic wrap. press into the grease gun threads.
let dry, unscrew, drill hole in putty for grease to flow.
it might work better if you put the putty in the grease gun recess first and then press the tube threads into it.

That’s a good idea but I’ve got no epoxy in the garage.
If I can just find a nylon screw or plug with 9/16-18 threads I can drill it out and tap a 3/8 hole in it.

I got some 3/4” brass round bar at home if you want me to make a thing and toss it in the mail.
9/16-18 is not a very common size. You could probably find a steel cap screw or bolt though.
You already know this, but this is a lot of work for something that doesn’t work very well in the first place.

Yeah, we have a 9/16-18 die at work so it makes for a pretty quick little part. No need to single point the external threads.

I’ve also gotta check the tube threads, I measured it at 20tpi but I’m seeing 18 and 24tpi as common sizes. I don’t have anything larger than 1/4" in the garage to check for certain right now.

FYI: The threading on the grease injector is 1-1/2"x20TPI. I made it to adapt to 14x1.5mm, though the aforementioned squeeze tube grease gun is designed for a 9/16"x18TPI grease tube. The two threadings are close enough that the few threads should probably fit interchangeably, and the Super Lube really looks more like 1.5mm pitch, not 18TPI (or 1.4mm pitch), so that’s what I designed for.

9/16-18 is UNF, 9/16-20 is the thread used for pedals. You could try and thread a right side pedal into it to see?
Edit: I see now your were talking about the 3/8” thread…

Serious dither-ways. I have one of those old tubes and I am pretty sure it works with my modern gun. Maybe my modern gun is not that modern.
Smart money is on this. The older I get the less new my stuff is.
