No heel slip at all in the two weeks I’ve worn em.
Guess I’m trying some then
I decided to YOLO on some MW7s in my size.
Yeah I did have to size up a little in lakes I guess. But it was less sizing up than I’m used to having to do with almost every shoe of every type ever in my life.
I probably should have tried the extra wide but I was tired of looking. I like my MX 237s 241s a lot, though, and my feet don’t hurt when I ride anymore, which was a first.
So… is pressfit bb on high-end plastic still wack
Sometimes. But often it’s just fine.
The seals on the new Sram DUB stuff has gotten quite a bit better and Shimano 86/92 has always been good.
If you’re stuck trying to put a Shimano or GXP crank in PF30 there are some newer adapter units from Token that are very decent.
Always avoid wheelsMFG and Enduro when possible. Garbage seals and metal on metal make for a bad time.
I think the key is really going with systems that don’t rely on square peg/round hole situations.
86/92 is really for Shimano HT2 and GXP.
PF30 is always going to work best with a 30 or 29mm spindle crank.
The OEM bottom bracket usually has the best seals and best design
Derlin cups are better than alloy cups. And so on.
Did U already tell me the t47 bb? Was it hellbender?
Hellbender70 has stainless Enduro bearings, which are better than cheaper bearings. If you’re using a 30mm spindle that’s was probably the way to go last time it was brought up
Since then the new Token T47 for 30mm spindle units came out and are WAY less expensive and might actually be better. I have one coming in this week for a repair and I’ll get a close look at it, but their seal system looks like it might be quite a bit better than the CC. Not stainless, but in my experience, the quality of the seal is substantially more important than the quality of the bearing itself.
If you are running DUB, Sram finally released T47 units with really good seals in all the different frame sideways.
I went token t47 on my on alu gravel frame because I’m cheap and it’s been great. I did a pretty substantial ride in wet weather in May and no issues afterwards.
I was a t47 skeptic for a while but it’s great for aluminum because of the extra weld area and there are decent quality BBs now that aren’t stupid expensive.
I had a good, albiet short experience with a token bb in the state all road frame I had
Didn’t one of you nerds post some stupid Wald basket rack mount clip things not too long ago? I can’t find it now.
tarck search is better now but not that better
I’ve had good success with Shimano wide shoes. right now I have the fancy gravel racing shoes and they are comfortable for my hobbit feet
just getting caught up on the thread but fyi these are just generic frames with branding and us warranty/support. http://www.carbonda.com/road/gravel/80.html
Shimano’s wide is an E, I think. The RX8 was a good looking, light and stiff shoe that I really wanted to work for me, but since I’m usually a 2E or 4E in most brands (and wide throughout the foot), I just couldn’t get comfortable in them, especially in the mid foot.
I really wish they worked for me, though.
who do we like for bolt-on (rackless) fork leg panniers?
these?
maybe these?
I like the Ortlieb price way more, but if there’s a magically better option out there, I’d like to know about it. This is going on a road bike with a Rodeo Labs Spork, I want to be able to carry more stuff down low.
OS makes good stuff, but they charge a lot of money for it. I’ve been thinking about pulling the trigger on the Pico for a while, specifically b/c they have pockets
I do anything cages + dry bags. Anything cages also means you can strap other stuff like bottles/whatever, should you desire
