Yeah, if you have a dremel you could also try cutting a slot in the bolt head to get a flat head screwdriver in there. Cut it nice and deep so the screwdriver doesnā€™t cam out when you torque on it.

Theyā€™re awesome for extracting stripped hardware gently. Im not positive you can cut a slot in the bolt without also scoring the hood body but slicing the clamp should work.

Clamps are cheap and ubiquitous and once the tension is off of it the bolt will just spin right out.

Hammering a torx, xzn, or slightly larger hex will get this going asap.

The bolt is T30 already. Donā€™t have a bigger one to hammer in. Tried a hex and it was either too small or too big to hammer in.

I have a cheap screw extractor kit coming tomorrow. I think the biggest one will work. If it doesnā€™t, Iā€™ll be buying a Dremel later this week.

Got the replacement clamp bands and hardware in the mail so Iā€™m ready to go regardless of how it comes out.

I donā€™t think I like 1x10 as much as I thought I would, so Iā€™m considering changing the bike up to a 2x10 with a 38/28 crankset. Are there any (non-XTR) short or medium cage mountain danglers for an 11-32 cassette? I keep coming across long cage danglers. Does it even matter?

A Zee M640 SSW would do that. M786 (medium cage) would too.

I think the M786 has a medium cage. I just ran the long cage on my double setup.

Zee is meant to be 1x, the short cage doesnā€™t take up much chain other than the cassette range. The cool thing about one of the models is that it has a smaller parallelogram for shifting a road cassette on a DH bike.

I swapped a medium cage onto mine for 55/42 11-28
