Endpoint bikes (and Outpost) thread

I’d say Dirtbags100 and Coffee Grinder XL are the most “fun with a capital F” since party ride atmosphere most of the time and plenty of safety meetings for those that partake in the electric cabbage. Biggest turn out for these so lots of smaller groups form. The pointy end of the ride still keeps it fun. Every year we try and ride the “let’s get this over with” pace but still make time for jokes and gramming.

Dragon Run and my birthday ride are also really fun routes with lower commitment.

Tobacco 200 is my personal favorite since it’s the perfect mix of Type 1 and 2 fun ATMO.

Oh, and as far as equipment goes, I use my Coffee Grinder for all of these with 700x 32 or 36mm tires except Monster Cross, DB100, and CGXL. I use the Norco for those since it has 45mm tires on it.

That looks like an awesome schedule.

Work has me traveling to VA this spring. I’ll have to see about borrowing a bike case if any trips land at the right time.

Can you toss these onto the Outpost blog?

with GPS routes!

You know the drill… we don’t release routes until the night before!!!

But yeah… more info for this will be coming. It’s all up on the Outpost Calendar on the website here:

How tall are you?

I’m tagging along with my wife to DC for the Bike Summit (3/26-29) and checking out some of the ECG in VA either before or after. Not sure if we’ll make it as far south as Richmond, but I’ll be lobbying to detour for the Dragon Run!

6’-1", but I typically ride a 57.

Hmm… well that rules out any of my stable. But if you do think it’s likely, I’ll put the word out.

Best I can do is a 61 cm shitkicked crosscheck. You could set it up French fit, which is probably very awesome for gravel

Question, does the XL Coffee Grinder look silly w/ 650b?

Clears a 38 650 and squeezes in a 42.

I had fun with mine

The current version clears 48. There’s some photos of the XL yellow one we did on the Outpost Insta. I think the 650b wheels are in one of the photos. Does not look weird to me.

What’s the deal with this bear creek birthday ride? Just found out I have some flexibility in early march.

It’s a 40-something mile ride I’ve been doing on my birthday weekend for the last 6 or so years. Mixed surface. About 45 minutes west of Richmond at Bear Creek State Park.

@EndpointBraden searchlight fork plays ok with Specialized Pizza rack?

No idea. What’s the measurement between crown mount and leg mount?

Hunter Gatherers: what are the biggest tire sizes y’all have run and liked? I bought some wide rims thinking I’d max the clearance out but then realized I don’t know how it actually rides at 2.1+.

I am also interested in this. Would like to run a bigger tire. But also think I might sell it soon so maybe somebody else can buy it and figure it out.

This guy went ham in the antipodes:

I don’t really have a strong case for fendering, so I guess I should just go for it
