Endpoint bikes (and Outpost) thread

the even better answer

Yeah, I know. It’s just another fuckin thing to buy three of before I get the right one.

no just wait for braden to tell you the right one. i don’t see it on the endpoint site anymore but you’ll only need to do it once and it’s reversible

The ones he made for us were “custom”. One side was shaved down a bit.

I might have one left.

But if not, I’m sure dude can mod one for you.

Definitely go the adapter route.

Or if you’re not in a giant hurry I’ve got a used 15x100x28 hub I’ll give you. You just have to wait a few weeks until I make some planned dithering.

Thanks. I just bought one from modern bike.
I’m stoked for carbon commuter wheels!

I saw Braden’s response and was like ‘There is a 1000% chance Rudy will not be able to wait a few weeks.’

I’ll probably wait months to build the wheels though.

Late reply but I ran 2.2 XC tires basically the whole time on my last-gen H/G. Started with 650x47’s but once I swapped to the bigger tires I never went back. I also had huge sweepy flat bars on it and had committed to it just being a slow bike though so ymmv.

Other note: lotrel not so great for singletrack. I rode that bike on some trails and the tires kinda wrote checks that the geo couldn’t cash. Was really nice for just real chunky groad stuff though. Did most of the Divide on that bike and having big tires for soft gravel, washboard, etc for sure made a difference that was worth having.

Thank you, that’s exactly what I was hoping for.

This is further thread derailing, but it’s kinda fun that Nord Lock are local to me. A small company founded in the middle of basically fuck-off nowhere northern Sweden back in 1982…

I have an FBM and a new new HG, Horizons on the FBM, super yummys on the new. Love how much more capable and fun the bigger tires roll. We intentionally increased the clearance on the new version because folks were stuffing as much beef as they could into this bike. It’s a lot of fun going bigger. That being said, the Horizon setup is probably one of my favorite around town rides. It’s so smooth and relaxed, but still quick and fun.

Those of you with NightMoves™️ how heavy did they end up?

In fractions of crosschecks

20lbs without the bags and bottles.

Maybe a little more with all the grime from yesterday’s 200.

Were there any specifically exotic parts used? It appears your build is fairly run of the mill carbon rims + post, and the campag ofc.

I’m toying with the idea of either building a 2nd, slick equipped, wheel set for my Squid; or just building a new road bike. When I had 32s on the Squid all winter I was in love and 42s don’t spark that kinda joy on every ride.

Does the part of the porteur rack that sticks up

Fit inside the leather stabilizer on an Acorn rando bag

from memory that would be a stretch for a 3/8" tubing rack, it’s already narrow for reenactment racks that are normally 5/16"

There’s some extra room with the nitto m12 - not so much so that it’s wobbly or anything, but something bigger could fit.

I’m planning a bike build and thinking about a night moves potentially but I am plagued with decision fatigue

Friend of mine who started building frames recently bought a Nightmoves fork for his Falconer then decided to sell the Falconer and build a frame around the fork.

Pretty stoked to see it in person
